I am so happy I found Pam in my search for a new website. After attempting to get a site going on my own from a premade template from a national source, I decided I needed something custom built for us. Pam was so quick. She had a couple options put together for us within a week or so. I loved her ideas and after some tweaks the finished product is more than I could have imagined. She's quick to respond to any questions or issues, and she's so fun to work with. See the site she created for us at www.alluringblooms.com . Thanks for the awesome site Pam. We look forward to working with you again for any future web needs.

About

Hand-tailored websites, landing pages & branding with soul.

It's Wednesday at 3:22pm. I'm sitting in the "Quiet Study Room" in our local library. It's a small room that is set up like an old-fashioned classroom. There are two rows of wooden desks (with incredibly uncomfortable wooden chairs!) The sign outside the door warns: MAXIMUM OCCUPANTS THIS ROOM: 22.

I work here almost every afternoon so I can assure you, there are never 22 people in here (ever!) The rest of the library is high-tech and modern.

Two walls of the room are lined with windows. If you were here, you could look in and see me sitting at one of these funny little desks writing. I'm using pencil (I bring a few so I don't have to sharpen them while I work) and I'm writing on lined paper (the loose kind with blue lines and a red line down the left side of the page).

I've been designing and developing websites and high-end promotional landing pages since 1998. Before that, I worked in the software development industry for 7 years. I've lost count of the websites and landing pages I've built for big (and not so big) brands, leading retail advertisers, mid-size companies and small start-ups (you can see examples at http://www.websitesbypam.com/work). Yet here I sit at a plain oak desk with pencil and paper.

Because this is how I create.

I always start by pretending (ask my kids). For example, right now I'm pretending I know you and I'm writing you a real letter. I wish I knew your name. Even better, I wish we were chatting in person!

The way I see it, the things I create all have the same goal: to help you sell your crafts. So, my process is set up to help me get to know you and your customers. Yes, I actually use pencil and paper! Then I make what I've drawn. The technical tools I use vary (Adobe Photoshop, Illlustrator, HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery, PHP, WordPress & so on), depending on the project.

MY SHOP'S STORY

I first opened my shop in 2011 and was inundated with orders right away. It was very exciting! But (honestly) it was overwhelming. And, I quickly realized that I wasn't prepared to be a dedicated shop owner. My children were very little (preschool) so I simply couldn't give it my all.

I put my shop on hold, kept my day job in digital advertising and focused my energy on being a mom.

I love my craft. But the advertising industry? Not so much. It's mostly greedy and soul-less. There is a lot of knowledge and talent there, though. I learned a lot!

Ultimately, I found the politics and lack of authenticity unbearable. Leaving took some serious courage, though! It's surprisingly hard to give up something that is known (and secure) for a dream.

I decided to re-open my shop (in February 2017) because I love Etsy's mission and am so inspired by the people here! I truly want to use what I've learned to help small creative businesses like yours thrive.

The timing is better for me now. So I'm back with bells on :)

A Purple Backpack (carries my "office")
A Sky Full of Stars (gives something to reach for)
And A Big Blue Sea (empowers the soul to chart new waters)

So happy to be here -- thank you for visiting my shop!
