Welcome to our shop!

Dale and I have been married for 25 years and have both pursued our art career very differently. Dale has been creating art for over 35 years and teaching at the university level for 30+ years. He has been very successful with producing large pieces of art for public spaces such as benches for the city of Marquette and the court house gates. His pins have been produced for both public and private use and he his copper raising is very refined with the success of raising a 3 foot copper disc. He has participated in many shows and exhibits with great success. I on the other hand have toted my wares to sales and participated in a few shows and exhibits never truly making my art a priority but more of an enjoyed activity. Dale and I have been talking about pursuing a studio together for many years and finally here we are!

We both work out of a shared space just below the hill of our home in the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan. While I do have heat I have to carry water down to my shop so I try to do most of my work in the summer and fall. Due to the mess of forging we gratefully have a door that separates our two spaces but often our door is open.

Most of the convo and promotional work for Wedig Mud and Metal is done by me as Dale is old school and doesn't even know how to turn on the computer unless it involves checking the photo's on his game camera! Dale and I both pride ourselves on artistic integrity and hope any of the artwork shipped from the UP finds a place among your most adored items.
