Simple Living through reusable products
Wee Essentials nació en la mesa del comedor en 2007; buscaba una forma económica y ecológica de reemplazar muchos de mis productos desechables para el hogar: productos de higiene femenina, discos absorbentes para la lactancia, toallas de papel y pañales/toallitas húmedas. Llevaba cosiendo y haciendo manualidades desde los 7 años, ¡así que era lógico que los hiciera yo misma!
Tras muchos intentos y errores, en junio de 2008 abrí Wee Essentials en Etsy con mis primeros Ultrathin Liners y Soap Bits, una solución de toallitas de tela naturales. Sabía que no era la única que buscaba productos que le permitieran ahorrar dinero a largo plazo y, al mismo tiempo, cuidar la limpieza del planeta.
Con el paso de los años, la idea de "Vivir con sencillez para que otros puedan vivir con sencillez" ha influido cada vez más en mis acciones y en la forma en que dirijo Wee Essentials. Al usar productos reutilizables, ahorramos recursos para los demás; y cuando terminamos de usarlos, se pueden compostar, total o parcialmente, evitando así que acaben en vertederos y manteniendo el agua y el aire limpios para quienes viven cerca.
Wee Essentials started at a dining room table in 2007; I was trying to come up with a frugal and earth friendly way to replace a lot of my disposable household necessities - feminine products, nursing pads, paper towels, and diapers/wipes. I'd been sewing and crafting since I was 7, so it was only natural to make my own!
Lots of trial and error later, and in June 2008 I opened Wee Essentials on Etsy with my first Ultrathin Liners and Soap Bits - a natural cloth wipe solution. I knew I wasn't the only one who was looking for products that would save them money in the long run while being thoughtful about the earth's cleanliness.
Over the years, the idea of "Living simply so others could simply live" has affected my actions more and more, and it has also affected the way I run Wee Essentials. By using reusable products, we can save resources for other people - and when we are done with them, reusable products can be composted in part or whole, keeping products out of landfills, and keeping the water and air clean for the people who live near them.
