So much fabric, not enough time!
So many ideas, not enough time!

This sums up my world. I have so many ideas, creativity and skills... but I just don't have enough time to do it all. I learn a skill, create, teach & repeat.
I used to wonder why I couldn't stick to just one area or skill. What is wrong with me? Well as I have aged ( and grown wiser :)) I have learned that my skills are invaluable. Learning new things also helps to keep my interest.

I began the Barn Quilt journey when I first saw Barn Quilts in Ohio while on a bike trip. My friends asked me, the resident quilter in the bunch, what these meant? I did not know, but was determined to find out. I learned that the Barn Quilt movement began in 2000 by Donna Sue Groves as a way to bring business to her town in Adams County Ohio. I researched, designed and created several of my own designs. Along the way I gained a reputation and was contacted by person doing a documentary on Donna Sue and Barn Quilts. I became a resource for her. The documentary, Pieced Together, was created & is a wonderful story.

My love of quilting inspires my Barn Quilts & books.

But my world is so much more than Barn Quilts. My daily life is quilting quilts for others. I am a Long Arm quilter. I layer the quilts and stitch thru them with a large machine on a frame. It is so wonderful to see all the different quilts that are brought thru my doors!
Along with quilting for others, I teach quilting techniques. I have a passion for sharing...this has led me to many group classes all over the country. I am a diamond certified Square in a Square instructor ( a method for making accurate triangles). I have been published in several quilting magazines & wrote a book on Short Arm Quilting.
So this is where all the fabric you see in my stash bushing section of the shop comes from! It overflows from all the new projects & I just need to move it on to a good home. I love fabrics...the ideas & possibilities I see in each one just pop out at me. But I have learned that I cannot keep them all... & I need room for more!

While I am not creating in the studio, I can be found with my furry friends... my Gordon Setter Millie & Schnauzer/ShitZu Jameson.
