About

Hello, my name is Bill Wessinger and Wessinger Woodworks is my business. I love to work with my hands, and have been a lifelong woodworker. This business represents the most recent evolution of that pursuit. The designs are all my own, and quality is my highest concern. I want to produce furniture and objects that are distinctive, long lasting and which will be loved by those who own it. I am happy to work with customers to upholster pieces in fabrics that will complement their decor or to work with clients on custom pieces when my current designs do not meet their needs.

In the past I have spent time focusing on wooden boat building and sculpture along with carving and other types of woodworking. I take all those lessons into my work on furniture.

My work draws inspiration from a variety of sources. Some of my favorites are Hans Wegner and George Nakashima. Some of the older styles I admire are traditional windsor chairs, with their light weight resulting from slender spindles, and shaker furniture.

While my designs vary somewhat in style, all my pieces are built out of sustainably sourced wood. The fir that I use is all reclaimed and carefully hand picked. The Oregon White Oak is sourced directly from a local family owned sustainable forestry project.

A final note on shipping:
Depending on the piece and your location, the most economical shipping method may be freight or blanket-wrap service. I will work to find the most economical and safest method that meets your needs.
