Announcement
Thank you for visiting! I post a few days a week on Instagram (@westernspacesphotography) and Pinterest and Pinterest (parnhamphoto)
• All images are original, shot by myself, over the last 30 years or so.
• I've started to offer some shots as traditional "Paper" prints. In those cases, I’ll work with you regarding the border to ensure you can frame it as planned.
• The cost of shipping these canvases can range from $75 to $150 dollars. If you're local to Southern New Hampshire, let me know, and maybe we can bypass the shipping and save you some money!
• I often blog about my photography at westernspacesblog.com
• And I try to post my images for browsing at westernspaces.com
• Please note that all these images may be printed to custom sizes. If you have a special size or topic you'd like to see more of, please let me know.
• If you'd like to ship out of the US, please let me know and we can work something out.

5 out of 5 starsI loved this art but needed a special size to use in a vintage frame. The seller was very accommodating and put a lot of time and effort into figuring out how to produce it and ship it. I’m very pleased with this beautiful piece of art!

About WesternSpacesPhoto
I'm an old school photographer, who also embraces the amazing digital opportunities us contemporary photographers enjoy. Being a “serious” photographer, since the mid 1980's, my science and engineering interests carried over into photography easily, especially in the darkroom. I took a lot of pride in exposing and developing some very hard to work with films and papers, such as Kodak's High Speed Infrared Film, HIE-2481. It took a BFA in photography, at the University of New Hampshire, to loosen me up; exposing me to more fine art approaches and concepts. Within the following years, after UNH, I began to consider myself more of a printmaker, than "just" a photographer; working in mediums like silk screening and Gum Arabic printing, both with photographic twists. I'm obsessed with combining antique photographic processes with newer technologies.
In the early 90's, I started making near yearly pilgrimages across the county. Often solo, I'd pack up my car in New Hampshire, and drive west, often zig zagging tens of thousands of miles on backroads across this amazing country before coming back home. I’d try to camp as much as possible while shooting. Most of my portfolio consists of shots from the western half of the country, thus the name of this shop. A fun fact, my grandfather, Richard V. Parnham, was also a professional photographer. And he also used to take many road trips all over the country shooting state capitols and other common interest subjects. He compiled his shots into narrated, with music, slide shows that he would also show off, as he travelled. I remember the first time I saw one of his shows. It was for a Cub Scout fundraiser at my elementary school in Stratham, NH. The show went over great. Over the last few years, I’ve been slowly digitizing and cataloging his work. On occasion, I contribute his shots to such sites as Wikipedia. Recently, I’ve posted some shots of New Hampshire covered bridges that had no photos on the site. Since his photos from the 50’s and 60’s, the bridges had been lost.
As you can probably infer, I’m not only a “landscape” photographer, but also obsessed with old trucks, cars, gasoline pumps and trains. I think it’s so important for all of us photographers to shoot these subjects as much as we can. So many amazing vehicles and pumps are quickly rusting away. They don’t make these things anymore. These hallmarks of both design and past muscle, nod to a simpler time when efficiency and emissions were of less a concern. I hope my photos help preserve these amazing machines for future generations.
Just like from my darkroom days, I prefer to strictly control the quality of my product. Everything here is perfected and produce by me. I master the print, print it, varnish it and stretch it (if canvas). If you ever receive a print that you don’t care for, please let me know, and we’ll work something out.
