The dog who started it all!
Welcome to Westielicious, a fiber shop inspired by an adorable little Westie named Regis, who taught his owners patience, love, perseverance, and joy.
Not only do I offer loads of fiber, in all its forms, but I also produce fun yarns on my very own spinning wheel and drop spindles. You will not find these yarns in the big box stores. Most are one of a kind. If you've never treated yourself to homespun yarns, please do. Etsy is full of some wonderfully spectacular fiber artists. You don't have to buy from me--but please check out our little niche. You will be amazed!
In addition to my fibers and yarns, I also offer custom spinning services for special pet mementos. I will work with you every step of the way to make sure that you are satisfied. Losing a beloved pet is one of the worst things a pet owner can go through. I've been there and want to help you in your loss. It's my way of paying forward all the love that I have gotten from my little dude Regis. Send me a convo if you're interested and I will make a custom listing for you.
Regis recently made his journey to the Rainbow Bridge. We miss him terribly. Westielicious is his legacy. His torch has been passed onto Walter. He's the little guy in my shop banner.

Do you have a special little furry friend that you would like to have yarn spun from? I can make you a skein of yarn to remember your fur baby. Some fibers may need to be blended with wool. Fiber derived from brushings is ideal and should be at least 2 inches long. For more info, send me a Convo.

All items are made/processed in a pet friendly home (kind of goes without saying given the whole back story of my shop, but I just need to put it out there, all official like). Hey, we're non-smokers though. Woo hoo!
I typically use Prochem dyes but I do have a few Country Classics and Greener Shades in my inventory. I use absolutely NO food grades dyes due to their instability. However, even the most meticulously dyed fiber can bleed if improper temperatures are used in washing or if your home's water chemistry is a little off. Additionally, if I've left a little lanolin in my processed wool, this can lead to some dye leakage as well. I personally do not care for over-scoured wool, so this is one of the trade-offs that I make. I dye "by the book" though, using pH strips, temperature gauges, surfactants (synthrapol) and professional dyes. If I'm not satisfied with the dye exhaustion, the product does not go into my shop.
