I harvest, mill, turn, and assemble all items at Wetheredwood. I created a shop in top of my 1850 Springhouse in a historic Mill Village in Baltimore, Maryland.
At an early age I was introduced to Woodworking by my father who was a contractor. While I could not cut a straight line to save my life, I fell in love with Wood. The natural beauty, unique traits of species, and inner grain that reminds me of a snowflake, no 2 cuts ever produce the same exact look.
While working a corporate management job in technology I felt that something was missing in my life. I found that something when I received a lathe for my birthday. I grabbed a few books, found wood, and I was off turning. I followed up my self-taught skills by attending multiple turning classes. Joining the American Association of Woodturners opened my eyes to the possibility of doing what I love as my primary occupation.
One of my favorite things is to share my turnings at shows and online. In person to see people lock in on that piece and feel the need to touch it is really rewarding. I feel the same way, throughout the turning process I stop my lathe and find the object in the wood. One of my instructors provided me with the best advice, "Don't turn an object based on the size of your wood blank, turn around your vision." This opened my eyes and took my turning to a new level.
I hope you enjoy viewing my items and if you decide to purchase, I hope the items become something you would be proud to gift or hand-down through your family as an heirloom.

Shop policies

I will not sell anything I would not gift. I do not believe items should look like they come from a mold, the wood should show it's beauty in knots and natural flaws.
