WhimsicalWoolies' Shop Announcement

Thank you for coming to visit my shop! Thank you to all my old customers and new customers for making 2014 a wonderful Etsy year! I am all caught up on my orders and I thank all of my wonderful customers who have showed such patience and understanding. All my work is handmade by me and I do my best to get everyone's order out in a timely fashion but at Christmas time it is nearly impossible. I just want to say thank you to you all! I am now back to a 1-2 week delivery and on small orders less time.

My first show for this year will be the beginning of May at the Sheep and Wool Festival at Howard County Fairgrounds near Frederick, MD. This is a heavily attended festival and worth the trip!

Almost all of my work leans towards the whimsical hence the name. I like my creations to make me smile after I have designed them and I hope they do the same for you. Please read below and check out my list of shows that I attend.

Everything you see on this site is handmade completely by myself along with help from my daughters, Kristen and Meghan and my wonderful sister, Madeline. Each item pictured on this site is a representation of that item. Each one is created as closely to what you see in that picture as possible.

Thank you for coming and visiting my wooly little store.

I have been in business for over 29 years now under the name of The Ram's Horn Connection. Whimsical Woolies is the name for my Etsy store.
Each piece I design is made from wire as a base and wool as the body. I wrap the wool over the wire to create the main body of each creation and then add needle felting technique to acquire the features I desire for ears, face, etc. Since the body is made of wire they are POSEABLE!

My work has been featured in several national magazines over the years such as Country Living, Country Home, Traditional Home, Wild Fiber, Domino Magazine and Early American Life and most recently Art Doll Quarterly.

Over the years several pieces of my work have ended up in several museums around the country also.

Thank you so much and enjoy shopping and come back often because I am constantly adding new items!

Below are the shows that I have applied for the 2015 season. The list may change so please check back before coming to a show or contact me.

Thank you,
Maureen Lavorgne
