Whimzeez isn’t just your average, everyday Etsy store. We were created and came to be out of the dreams and imagination of our 10 year old daughter, Lyric.

Let me give you some background on our little family. My name is Jen and I have always been creative in one way or another. Whether it was making wreaths, decorating, DIY or jewelry making, I've been doing them all for years. But this was never more than just a hobby.

About a year ago, our daughter Lyric really started showing an interest in learning how to make jewelry, so I started teaching her. Then she wanted to know if we could sell the jewelry so that she could start a savings account and also be able to give more to others. She has a very giving heart. Now, my girl is full of sparkle and life, but she is more of an introvert when it comes to putting herself out there to people she doesn’t know. So this was quite a surprise! I wanted to encourage this new bravery in her so we not only started an Etsy Store, but also started doing a booth at our local Farmers Markets around Nashville. We spent the next few months getting up at 5am every Saturday and every Thursday evening, packing up our car and running a booth.

It has been so amazing to watch her confidence and excitement blossom with every piece she sells or every compliment she receives! Not only is she learning how to create, but how to run a business. Several days each week after school, she will spend five to six hours creating new pieces simply because she loves doing it. As a Mom, this makes me happy.

Lyrics heart, as well as mine, is to create things that are just a little bit different. Things that are both unique and a little bit whimsical. She said to me when she first started making earrings, that she didn’t understand why they always needed to match. In fact, my brave girl decided they didn’t need to. She said “sometimes the best pairs don’t quite match and are complete opposites”. Out of the mouths of babes! It was from that little moment that we started developing our signature mismatch earrings.

My hope is that this little store will continue to do well online. In a world that can sometimes be so negative and dreary, I want her light to shine brightly through her creations. My hope is that we can pour even a tiny bit of her faith and joy for life into this jewelry so that every one of you that purchases a piece will experience it!
