In 2009 I was seeking to start an online business and a friend told me about a currently growing art form. Miniature collectible paintings. They were called ACEO (Art Cards Editions and Originals). These miniatures were tiny....2.5 inches by 3.5 inches. Just the size of baseball trading cards. These little paintings were affordable and I loved the idea of painting miniatures. I began to translate my larger spirit painting genre to the small size. Let me tell you that coming down from painting a 22" x 30" size to mere inches takes some adjustment. I reduced my paint brush size in the beginning, but eventually returned to using some pretty big brushes to paint those itty bitty paintings. Getting everything into the painting took some effort until I realized that I had to only paint portions of my subject. I kept painting and my work grew into what you see in my shop today. Although I still paint larger watercolors my love is the little guys. When I sit down to paint one I finish in one sitting. I like that part especially because it keeps everything fresh.

I work alone as always and from my home studio. My moon is in cancer so I have to be pried out of my domestic surroundings. However, I do very much enjoy communicating with friends, family and collectors of my art. I live in the San Bernardino mountains about 70 miles east of Los Angeles. It is very wild and I draw inspiration from my rugged surroundings. There is an abundance of wildlife here which I have often painted and described. It is my piece of heaven here on the mountain.
