Embracing my passions...allowing creativity...learning... appreciating...loving nature, art and life...everyday!
I’ve always been an artist at heart and enjoyed many forms of expression...painting, paper filigree, crochet, sewing, and various crafts that could be accomplished in short spurts as life , marriage and motherhood kept me busy and happy. Photography started out as a tool to inspire my own art but has become an extension of my everyday. There are few things more enjoyable than walking alone in nature and catching a glimpse of some wonderful creature or spotting a wild bloom. What makes these times delicious for me is having my camera in hand and capturing those beautiful birds, bugs, critters, in the sweet spot of the camera lens while they pose among winding vines or cascading branches, a background of light, mood, movement: nature knows art.
So if I’m not out strolling over the river and through the woods with my camera I’ll be in my little studio with music playing in the background, engrossed in a drawing or painting or meticulously printing out a soon to be famous photograph. Often times my Aussie Doyle accompanies me on those strolls...he’s learning to be patient with me...but he’s not allowed in the studio! And yes, there still is a fair bit of dabbling in other crafts going on– but that’s another shop: shorthenstudio.etsy.com
My photos allow me to deliberately pause and enjoy the warmth of the sun's glow, a flicker of movement, a wondering stare, an intricate close up. Perhaps one of them will provide fascination for you as well.
I use a Canon 60D with various lenses, an Epson wide format printer with Epson inks and papers (unless specified) and print and prepare all of my original photos or artwork. I appreciate my customers and will send you only my very best.

I am solely responsible for the items available in my shop...I take the pictures and create the drawings and paintings...and I also generate all prints and photos in house to make sure that you receive the best quality I can provide, each order packaged and shipped with care.
Meanwhile, I'll be in my studio with music playing or out by my little pond, in the garden,
in the woods by the creek or in the hollow...
Life is good...nature is amazing...enjoy!
