Sweet cigar box!
All things bright and beautiful
We started this shop as a way of clearing out some of our treasures collected over the years. Most of our inventory ranges from the early 20s to 80s.
My mother taught overseas in Okinawa and Germany for many years. Consequently she was able to travel fairly widely, and amassed over the years quite an eclectic collection of treasures, from pottery and china, to figurines and jewelry.
We'd like to welcome thomas cook this new year of 2016, and look forward to showcasing to you his painting, plus lots of cool upcycled and recycled art work. You can find out more about him and his artwork here:
All our vintage items are very much cared for, having had for many years a particular appeal and nostalgia, visual reminders of good memories we've all collected over the years. We are honored to share some of them with you, and enjoy knowing each piece will find itself a loving home.

R.I.P. 11/12/2016 My mother is a retired teacher who has traveled the world extensively. She has always had a good eye, and has amassed an eclectic collection of treasures. It's time, though, to share some of them with the rest of the world.
My mother and I started this shop in March 2011 as a way of liquidating some of our treasures collected over the years. I'm currently unemployed, and saw this as a way to get started learning how to run my own business.
I'm a devout Episcopalian minimalist that doesn't drive in a remote rural area. My unsigned abstracts are only available on EBay. Sometimes I slip, fall off the wagon & indulge in the 'art that dare not speak its name' Folk Art.
Vintage items are sold "as is" and any flaws are described to the best of my ability. Please look closely at all pictures and convo me with any and all questions before purchasing. =) In many cases I have additional pictures of items, and I'm happy to forward them to you if you need to see more angles, etc. than I can show here on Etsy.
Please keep in mind as well that reasonable offers other than the listed purchase price will always be considered.

Alabama residents pay an applicable sales tax of 4%.
Phenix City, AL requires a seller's use tax to be collected at the rate of 2.1%
This means a total of 6.1% will be added to all orders placed by Alabama residents.
INCORRECT ADDRESSES for PAYPAL or DIRECT CHECKOUT: Please be sure your PayPal and Direct Checkout addresses are current and correct. In the case of lost orders due to incorrect address, I will, of course, work with you and the US Postal Service to recover your package and send it on to it's destination. International customers, please understand that delivery of your items can take up to 6-8 weeks, depending on factors such as USPS delivery issues and the time customs may spend examining your shipment. I will always keep in touch with you regarding delivery, and I always appreciate knowing if your shipment arrives safe and sound. Please note that shipping costs to resend item(s) due to incorrect address are the responsibility of the buyer.
I ship both domestically and internationally. If you are an international customer, and you are interested in any of the items you see listed here, please convo me and I'll provide a quote as to how much shipping would be for a particular item. "Everywhere Else" is based on shipping quotes from USA to Australia, so don't be shy about asking for a quote for your particular country. In some cases, the "everywhere else" price may be slightly cheaper than what is listed, depending on your country code. Domestic customers, please keep this in mind as well. I'm in Alabama. The closer we are to each other, the cheaper it's going to be to get it to you. Ask at any time for revised shipping costs to your zip code.
International buyers are responsible for any and all applicable customs fees. Even if you purchase an item as a "gift" for another person, it is likely that customs fees will still be applicable. Legally, I cannot, and will not, mark international shipments as "gift."
Please also keep in mind that each country sets their own laws as to what constitutes a shipment being processed for additional taxes and fees. Please keep these rates in mind when considering purchasing an item. www.dutycalculator.com allows you to do a simple search to discover what your country's likely import duty may amount to, based on item value, shipping, etc. Your local tax office will also have documentation useful in determining potential import duties.
Shipping rates are standard for First Class (jewelry and smaller items), and Priority Mail or Parcel Post (for items over 13 ounces) via USPS. Books and other paper media may ship Media Mail. I ship within 1-2 business days of payment. I will ship the cheapest method possible in any given situation. For international orders, please note that any package weighing over 4 pounds must ship Priority International (7-10 days), otherwise I ship First Class International (3-6 weeks).
Certain items, due to value, may require Signature Confirmation (for domestic orders), or Registered Mail (for international orders). Please see individual listings for notice of this policy. These services require that you be home to accept and sign for your package, or that you have the ability to retrieve your package from your local post office.
I do combine shipping when possible. Please contact me before purchasing, and I'll re-evaluate and revise shipping charges if applicable.
Shipping overages of $2.00 USD or more will be refunded to your account.
Refunds and Exchanges
Item refunds are available on a case by case basis. I do my best to accurately describe the item and point out any flaws, but please understand that you are not purchasing a brand-new item. I package your items carefully for shipping, but unless I misrepresent an item, I am unable to accept returns, except in cases of damage during shipment or complete loss/non-delivery of item(s).
I will always work closely with you in cases of non-delivery/loss. In many cases, the USPS is good about filing loss reports, and I always check first with them in attempts to locate your packages. But again, in the event your order is not delivered, refunds are acceptable.
In the case of damaged shipments, please be aware that you may need to provide pictures of the damaged item(s) to me, preferably with the original packaging included in these photos, for purposes of damage and insurance claims. DO NOT immediately return any damaged shipments, as this may void the insurance that is included with most purchases.
Returns must be approved and posted within 14 days of receipt of item. After 14 days, store credit in lieu of a refund may be issued. In cases of buyer's remorse, return shipping of item(s) shall be the responsibility of the buyer. In all return cases, no refunds shall be made until the item(s) are received by me, in original condition / as shipped. You must use the original or similar packaging, it must be packaged safely and it must be shipped with tracking.
