Don’t sell yourself short

Heya friendo,
Thanks for stopping in and taking a look. Etsy says to share my story so here goes a brief summary of the past 30+ years.
I was lucky enough to have a great grandmother in my life until I was 23. This meant I was able to learn to bargain hunt from someone who live through the depression. We went to yard sales nearly every weekend of my youth. Then when I was a bit older we’d go to auctions. On weekends I wasn’t at yard sales or flea markets my parents loved to wander the local flea markets. Throughout high school and college funky fashion was my thing. Rummage sales were where I went to make my wardrobe. Then, I kinda stopped doing anything thrifty. I went to college, got a degree in the social sciences (Sociology and Poli Sci) and graduated just as the market was tanking in 2007. I took the first job that would support me not living in my parents basement (no shame in it tho!). I ended up in residential special education and that sent me to grad school for a masters in severe special needs education. I spent nearly 10 years in the field before my mental health became a larger priority. I left the field completely in early 2016 and decided to go back to what I knew and loved - old treasures. From there I landed a part time gig with an estate sale company. That experience has been like a vintage internship. I’m much more knowledgeable about treasures and sensitive to how hard it is for folks to let go of treasures. All of this has lead me to creating Wicked Cool Kitsch - a haven for kitschy smalls and true vintage clothing in need of adoption. I encourage you to ask questions and get in touch if something catches your eye. Xoxo Bethie
