Trying to make something out of nothing
A vida pode ser engraçada às vezes. Com a atitude certa pode ser engraçado o tempo todo.
Alguns anos atrás deixamos a Califórnia e acabamos em último lugar que pensamos que estaríamos... West bum jazz Maine (ao lado do 'meio do nada Nova Inglaterra.') Quando começamos o Leste, não tínhamos ideia para onde iríamos ou o que faríamos quando chegamos lá. Nem sequer planejamos uma rota de viagem pelo país. Pensamos em ir para o norte e virar à direita algum dia antes de chegarmos ao Canadá. Nosso único objetivo era colocar os meninos em primeiro lugar e tentar viver simplesmente, cercado pelas coisas que amamos.
Acordamos em 2014 ainda muito nós mesmos, mas agora cuidando: um pequeno bando de cães, um rebanho maior de galinhas, uma colônia de abelhas, um gato ninja, uma píton chamada Aranha e um dragão empanado referido apenas como Sr. Lagarto. Adicione dois garotinhos alguns dias por semana e você tem nossa caótica casa.
Recentemente decidimos rededicar nossos esforços e a forma como vivemos, na esperança de que possamos nos conectar melhor com a terra e realmente colocar nossa família em primeiro lugar. Guiados pelas estações, esperamos explorar as habilidades simples e artesanatos gratificantes que a maioria esqueceu.
Às vezes você tem que deixar tudo para trás para começar de novo na direção que você sempre precisou ir.
Life can be funny sometimes. With the right attitude it can be funny ALL the time.
A few years ago we left California and ended up in the last place we thought we would ever be … West bum jazz Maine (right next door to the 'middle of nowhere New England.') When we started East we had no idea where we were going or what we would do when we got there. We didn't even plan a travel route cross country. We figured we would head North and turn right sometime before we hit Canada. Our only goal was to put the boys first and try live simply, surrounded by the things we love.
We awoke in 2014 still very much ourselves, but now taking care of: a small pack of dogs, a larger flock of chickens, a colony of bees, one ninja-like cat, a ball python named Spider and a breaded dragon referred to only as Mr. Lizard. Add two little boys a couple days every week and you have our chaotic little homestead.
Recently we decided to rededicate our efforts and the way we live, in the hope that we can become better connected with the land and truly put our family first. Guided by the seasons, we hope to explore the simple skills and rewarding crafts that most have forgotten.
Sometimes you have to leave everything behind to start over in the direction you have always needed to go.
