Inspiration from my Bead Table.
My story is in the beads, jewelry and what I create with them!
The first time I bought a piece of jewelry for myself, I was at my first Artist fair. I found a Sterling silver, rectangle pendant. It was double sided with a built in loop on the top and bottom. One side showing a dragonfly and the other with an impression of a flower. It had a couple of beaded dangles on it. I loved the beauty of it and the simplicity of it. I knew from that first piece that I wanted to learn to make and create jewelry for myself.
I majored in Art in college, so color and design are not a problem to me. But, picking up all of the items to make my first project - Wow! How do I use this tool, how do I open and close jump rings (without messing them up), how do you attach a clasp? All of the technical aspects became a reality of trial-n-error. I taught myself over the last 30 years to make nice, beautiful jewelry. Being self taught, I learned early that not every project turns out the way you intend.
I became interested in learning about wrapping beads with wire and creating jewelry pieces with wire. I learn with every piece I make. Every piece is original. Learning the right and wrong things to do with wire, learning how to harden it and make something that will last.
Recently I became entranced with Kumihimo, I am still experimenting with all types of materials and beads. There will be lots more to come than what I have in the shop right now.
My interests have always been in Art. In college I painted, I used black and white in my ink drawings and I used acrylic and oil paints. I love working with color palettes. I became interested in jewelry after college.
I enjoy photography, traveling and capturing the scenes of the places I visit. I am always thinking of how what I see would transfer to a drawing or painting.
I hope you stop by my shop, find some unique and beautiful items to enjoy and wear.
