About

Art is my passion; Live Life in Color!

Ever since I was a child I have been curious about nature and science and how everything in the world around us works. My inspiration comes from biology, nature and the beautiful world around us. I love to shoot landscape, natural images, and bright colors that really POP! Since my professional training stems from biology, I am meticulous with the detail in each painting and photo I create and it's outcome. While I do not have a degree in fine arts, I have been taking art courses and creating some form of art my whole life.

I believe that we all have several talents and the capacity to use both sides of our brain: the right side is the artistic and creative side; the left brain is responsible for our logical thought processes and science and math abilities. I like to think that I utilize all that my brain has to offer. My professional training is in the biological sciences and medical research. Throughout my life I have developed my artistic talents through painting, drawing and photography. You may notice the use of human anatomy and mathematical design and patterns that are found in medical science and nature. I love integrating medical science and biology into my abstract art.

I started selling my artwork when a friend commissioned an original painting as a gift for her mother, and then again when a colleague asked if my art was available for purchase. She purchased three originals in one day. Ever since, I have decided to share my artwork with everyone who enjoys art and wants to add a touch of color to their home or office. I'd love to hear from you if you have comments or questions. Thank you for reading.

Thank you for visiting my shop on Esty, "Wild Inspiration Art" by Kathleen Fitzpatrick.

I have been drawing and painting since I was very young. While my formal education is in biology (including a couple art courses), my passions lie in art and medicine. As a biologist, spending time creating something new on a blank canvas is a nice balance. I love the challenge of painting different images. For me, the movement of the brush stroke is almost meditative. My art is hanging up all over our home and brings life and energy as well as peace to our household. I hope you can find joy in my artwork as well. Thank you for stopping by and please check back often for updates. If you like what you see and want to remember to come back later, click the button "add shop to my favorites".

Several print sizes are available: 5x7, 8x10, 11x14, 16x20, 18x24. Please convo. me for questions and additional prices. Custom orders are easily done of my original paintings or prints. Please allow 7-10 business days for a turnaround with my printers with ALL items, unless otherwise listed. If you require a faster turnaround, please CONVO. me. Some items are available for immediate shipment and are indicated as such by "ready to ship" in the listing. If this is a gift, I would be happy to ship directly to your gift recipient, please include a message so I do not include the price on the packing slip, and I will also include a gift card with a message from you at no extra charge.

My second Etsy shop is called: "Wild Inspiration Photo"
The majority of my photography is focused on beautiful landscape in the western United States and where my travels take me. This work can be viewed here: www.etsy.com/shop/WildInspirationPhoto

Payment
We accept payment via PayPal and major credit cards through Etsy's Direct Checkout. We also accept layaway or bi-monthly installment payments as agreed upon between buyer and myself through email or conversations via Etsy. All buyers in California are subject to sales tax of 7.75%. This tax will be updated as sales tax changes in the state of California.

Once payment is confirmed, and I receive your order specifics, I will immediately put your order together. Please send me a message to inquire about installment payment plans, along with the artwork you would like me to reserve for you. Please note I do not ship until payment is received in full. Thank you for understanding.

How LAY-AWAY works:
-send me a conversation with the link to the item you want to purchase and indicate you would like to sign up for a lay-away plan
-I will create a custom listing for you and break the payment down into several smaller payments of equal value and create a custom listing for each payment
-This item will be reserved for you from the moment you make the first purchase

Question that wasn't answered on this page? Please send it directly to me and I will respond within 24 hours. Thank you.
Shipping
I ship via USPS (United States Postal Service) First Class. Shipping is determined by your address: zip code or country. I only charge what it costs me to ship and pack your purchase carefully. Shipping includes professional packaging and a customs form. International buyers pay all custom fees and other fees where applicable. I refund a shipping overcharge if it is more than $3.00. If you would like insurance included on your item during shipping, please send me a message with this request and I'll add this to the total shipping cost. Insurance is not included unless otherwise specified.

Please allow 7-10 business days for printing and processing. Once shipped, packages usually take about 2-8 days depending on the distance from California. I will send a message once your package is shipped.

Large ORIGINAL paintings ship via FEDEX in a specialty art box. The shipping cost that I quote you includes shipping, insurance, and tracking. I also have them professionally pack it to nearly guarantee safe arrival.
Refunds and Exchanges
I want you to be completely satisfied with the art you just purchased for your home or office. If for some reason you decide this is not the 'right' piece for you I will refund the full price within 7 days. I understand it can be a leap of faith to purchase fine art online. In nearly all cases, my art tends to look much better in person, with more vibrant colors and cleaner lines. I do my best to photograph my art in natural sunlight to show the true colors, but colors vary among computer screens.

Refunds are accepted within 7 days of receiving your item. Refunds are processed after the original fine art piece is received. Upon return, the buyer pays for return shipping. The item must be received and packaged in the original way it was sent in order to receive a credit or refund. Shipping cost cannot be refunded.

Damage during shipping:
If your package arrives damaged, please take pictures of the damaged package before you open it and contact me immediately, I will work with you and do my best to resolve this problem. Once you receive your package, please immediately open it and inspect it for damage. If concealed damage (damage to materials inside a package with no external damage evident) is exposed, notify us at once. We must notify carriers within 15 days (time varies by carrier), or they may deny liability.

If your artwork arrives damaged, please contact me immediately with photographs showing the damage. I will replace the artwork if possible (original artwork cannot be replaced, as it is the only piece available), offer a refund in the same way payment was received, or offer store credit in the same amount as already paid. If a return is attempted after 7 days, it is up to the discretion of the management.

Feel free to contact me with questions that were not answered here.
Additional policies and FAQs
For custom orders please send me a message by clicking on the "conversation" button at the top of the page. I usually paint my originals in a large size, 18x24 or larger. This allows for high quality prints of any size smaller than the original. If you would like a size that is not listed, please contact me and I will create a custom listing for you with your desired size. Most sizes can be accommodated.

Prints can be custom created on either canvas, 100% cotton rag paper or archival Matte Paper. Prints on canvas tend to have more texture on the surface, however they are usually at least 20% more expensive to produce leading to higher retail prices. If you are on a tighter budget and still want a high quality unique piece of art, 100% cotton rag also looks beautiful. You can tell it was painted and even still see the individual brush strokes. The colors are also translated vibrantly on cotton rag.
