5 out of 5 starsThis is the second time I have ordered from this shop and I have been happy both times. The first order was a custom keychain made with the snow leopard necklace charm. This was the wooden snow leopard brooch. Beautiful art. If you ever have more snow leopard stuff, I will definitely purchase again. Thank you

5 out of 5 starsI ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS! It's amazing how much detail is packed into this beautiful charm. I asked for it to not include the pinback so I can use it for another project and it arrived super fast even with that custom ask. REALLY appreciate it! This is going to look amazing!

My story started back in 2009, when I ran across something I fell absolutely head-over-heels in love with, right here on Etsy. It is best described as "illustration jewelry", I think... Necklaces, earrings and brooches with picture motifs, often animals or people. I started buying these wonderful, illustrated pieces for myself and wondered how they were made. I did some detective work and found out they were made of shrink plastic, or shrinky dinks! I JUST HAD to start experimenting, as I am an illustrator myself and wanted to see my own pictures made into wearable art.
After some research, A LOT of trial and error, and endless hours spent with the new material, I started selling my own handmade "illustration jewelry" items back in 2011. The motifs were animals and characters from TV shows and movies (namely Twin Peaks!) and people seemed to like them a lot. But it was just a hobby, something I did on the side, and I was still not 100% satisfied with this material. The designs I managed to print on shrink plastic were just not detailed or colorful enough, and it was too time-consuming to make. There were also too many pieces ruined due to the unpredictable behaviour of the material.
Fast forward a couple years: I've moved across the Atlantic from Europe to USA. Now that I had much better access to raw materials, I started to look around for better ways to create illustration jewelry. Finally, I found my wonderful manufacturer in Texas, and started printing my illustrations on acrylic and wood. The difference in quality is staggering! In the US, I also had an abundance of wholesale options for the metal findings, and decided to go all-in for sterling silver only. Suddenly my pieces jumped to a whole new level!
I had now finally cracked the code and found the look, feel and quality of my product that satisfied me! Today I proudly stand behind my jewelry and want to, as I am a very modest person (ahem) to create change in the world with my designs. What material are the chains and metal parts?
The chains are all 100% sterling silver. The clasps, split rings and other small metal parts are also sterling silver or in a few cases sterling silver filled*.
The only exception is pin backs – they are made from nickel-plated brass, since they don't come into contact with skin in the same way as necklaces and earrings.
The findings are supplied by a reputable US-based wholesale company. If you have more questions, please contact us.
What material is the jewelry made of?
We use clear and colored acrylic for our necklaces and earrings. We also use maple and alder wood. The material is mentioned in each product description.
Care instructions – Storing your jewelry
We want to make sure you keep your jewelry looking its best! Here are our tips on how to care for your precious pieces.
Keep your jewelry in its original box and store in a cool, dry place. And (this might sound like a no-brainer, but I speak from experience… ) try to remember to remove your jewelry before showering, jumping into the pool, going into the sauna or sleeping!
Care instructions – Reducing wear and tear
Keep water, perfume, sprays and other liquids away from your jewelry. Wooden jewelry DOES NOT LIKE GETTING WET – wood is an organic material, and extra care should be taken to protect it from moisture and extreme conditions. Don’t keep your jewelry loose in a purse with, for instance, your keys, as the printed parts can get scratched. That being said, if normal precautions are taken, your jewelry will last a long time looking good as new.
Custom and personalized orders
Use a soft, moist cloth to clean your jewelry. This will help to remove any fingerprints and dust, and keep your pieces looking as good as new. Please don’t scrub violently, submerge in water or use harsh cleaning agents.
