Wildflower Toys ™ is a small family business in northern California. All our dolls are designed and handmade by owner, Suzanne Barker.

We are a homesteading, homeschooling family and many times fairies come to life while listening to a spelling test or history lesson.


How Wildflower Toys got its start.
As a young girl growing up, I lived with my parents and 11 brothers and sisters on a small farm in Maine. My father was a toymaker and my mother homeschooled us, children. Together they built a home and a way of life that to often is forgotten these days. A life of hard work and old-fashioned values, where creativity thrived.

I have always loved working with my hands. My parents encouraged my love of learning new skills and supported my interests.

My mother taught me to knit when I was only 4 years old and how to sew as well. My father taught me the value of a hard days work, the importance of quality and the pride you feel in a job well done. He has always worked harder than anyone I know, and yet he still sees the world through the eyes of a child...

I now have a family of my own and as I raise my own daughters I found myself wanting to show them the same spark, the same beauty that my parents had shown me. In our world of disposable, Made in China products, I wanted them to understand, to feel the difference of something made by hand. I wanted them to experience the kind of quality toys that our grandparents had...the kind that you don't just throw away.
And so, I started making toys and clothes...a doll for Christmas, a new skirt for a birthday...Eventually, Wildflower Toys was born.

We have grown since the early days...added sewing and craft products, but our commitment to quality has always remained the same. It is my mission to carry the highest quality children's toys that will be cherished for years to come. As well as quality, USA made craft supplies.

Childhood is short and we should allow our children to remain innocent for that short time, surrounding them with things of quality and beauty.
