5 out of 5 starsThis hat is perfect for all my 18th fancy attire! The silk’s bronze, changeable-color and the lace work for the headband is so lovely. The hat is “important” and at the same time very pretty! “Pretty-Important”and just what I was looking to add to my wardrobe. Thanks so very much,

About WilliamsburgRose
Creating Historical Beauty, in any Century!
Since childhood, I have been fascinated with historic fashion, and for the last 35 years have been studying and re-creating authentic clothing from many eras. As the historic seamstress for Williamsburg Rose Fashions, I research and recreate styles of dress from the Renaissance to the 20th century for individuals and events from re-enactors to bridal and museum work. Past projects include an 18th century black silk "calash" bonnet for Mount Vernon, George Washington's Virginia home, and textile conservation on authentic 18th and 19th century garments.
A few years ago, a friend suggested I miniaturize my talents and start a line of 18" doll clothing, and I now offer a complete wardrobe of colorful and historically styled clothing for the Felicity and other 18" dolls, based upon my studies and reproductions of real 18th century clothing.
A graphic artist by profession I have always bee interested in history, costume and historic dance. I and my husband John are founders and directors of the Tapestry Historic Dance Ensemble, a dance troupe which performs Colonial, Regency and Victorian programs at historic sites and special events in the greater Philadelphia region.
I run my business Williamsburg Rose, from home, and appear at local historic craft shows and events. I make clothing for re-enactors, bridal fashions, historic sites and museums, and have given numerous lecture-demonstrations on Colonial and Victorian ladies fashions.
Currently Educational Director at Pottsgrove Manor historic site in Pottstown, PA .When not involved in activities of Olden times, John and Lynn tend to a family of pet parrots.
Some of the historic events they have attended include the Mercer Museum Folkfest in Doylestown, PA., Chadds Ford Days in Chadds Ford, PA, the Chestertown Tea Party in Chestertown, MD, the Charles Carroll House Colonial Craft Fair in Annapolis, MD, and in Virginia, at Mount Vernon's Colonial Craft weekend.

If you have an interest in Lady's Historical Fashions, you are invited to explore the various items we offer here at Williamsburg Rose.
Our collection of fashions represents many attractive styles worn during the 18th Century in England, France, and Colonial America. Ladies' gowns are adapted slightly for the modern figure, and are made to be worn with modern underpinnings.
The Williamsburg Rose Historic Doll Clothing Collection features a selection of attractive outfits for 18" dolls. Creations from Williamsburg Rose, while made for play value, also are based on real 18th century clothing in their construction and trimming. Real silks, satins, linen, laces and trims are used to create beautiful and well-made doll clothes that will last for play and display. Fabric choices may vary from photos shown.
