Simply gorgeous! The little cowrie shell is so detailed, and the pearls are just lovely. Nice length, great weight, not a lightweight bracelet, really makes a statement. Very pleased with this item, so glad I purchased it. Will check back with this seller often for other beautiful items. Thank You!!

About

My Story

I began making beaded jewelry as a hobby several years ago and quickly decided I would have to sell my work to feed my addiction to beads, supplies and tools. In 2007, I was introduced to metal clay and fell in love. Unfortunately I didn't know at that time it could be fired without a kiln and didn't start working with it right away. A few months later I learned of alternative firing methods and slowly began teaching myself metal clay techniques.

I took a certification class with Rio Grande in 2009 and now I teach beginning and intermediate classes in my studio. To accommodate my classes, I have moved my studio from a spare room in my home to a vacant room in my husband's office. I have invested in tools and supplies, including a kiln, so that my students won't have to.

I now work exclusively in metal clay and I am constantly trying to sharpen my skills and add to my knowledge. I have been fortunate to take classes from some of the top artists in the metal clay world.

The name "Willow and Me Jewelry" comes from my cat, Willow. When I first began beading, she was a kitten and would sit on my lap or work table and I signed those early pieces that I gave as gifts "Made with Love by Lisa and Willow". The spare room at home that I used as a studio (and still use as an office) has a large picture window and a bird feeder so Willow, Fern and Daisy can keep an eye on them. There is also a large cat tree where Willow often sleeps when I am in there. Now that my studio is moved outside my home, I don't get to spend as much time with Willow, unfortunately. She is a seal point Siamese cat who is very stubborn and talkative.

While much of my inspiration has come from nature, I believe my style is constantly evolving. My day job is Office Manager at Schoodic Arts for All (www.schoodicartsforall.org), a non-profit organization dedicated to celebrating artists and the arts. Working there has allowed me to meet other artists and to teach classes and workshops. I have recently taught my first metal clay classes to children.

Additional policies and FAQs
All pieces are made in a smoke-free environment. I quit many years ago, and, thankfully, Willow never started!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Safety and Materials~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Much of my jewelry is made with PMC (Precious Metal Clay), a medium which can be worked much like any modeling clay but then is fired at a high temperature to pure silver.
I also use other metal clays, such as bronze and copper. All pieces made with bronze, copper or other non-silver clay, are given several coats of jeweler's lacquer to protect the metal from tarnishing.
My jewelry is not meant to be worn by children under the age of 13. While I make my necklaces and bracelets strong, please use caution if you wear them around small children who may pull and break them. The beads I use definitely qualify as "small parts" and could easily be swallowed.
I often use Swarovski crystals in my jewelry. Swarovski crystals do contain lead, however, the Swarovski company has tested their crystals and has indicated that they do not believe lead is released from the crystals in an amount to be dangerous. Of course, the crystals should not be eaten, but they are fine to be worn.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~A Note About Sizing~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The lengths of necklaces and bracelets can sometimes be changed. I recommend you contact me before purchase if you need sizing on a piece.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Care of Your Jewelry~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Each piece will come with the following care instructions, as well as any instructions specific to that piece:
~Harsh chemicals could damage your jewelry. Please use care around them.
~Beaded pieces should not be submersed. Clean with a damp cloth.
~Due to its copper content, sterling silver may tarnish, especially in humid climates. Simply polish with a silver cloth. Storing your piece in the original anti-tarnish tissue paper will help slow the tarnishing process as well.
~Fine silver will not tarnish as quickly as sterling, but if it has been given a patina or is stored with jewelry that has a liver of sulphur patina, it may tarnish. It can be polished just like sterling silver.
~If your piece has a liver of sulphur patina, some of the patina may wear off. Rubbing with a polishing cloth may also remove the patina. If the patina is only in recesses, careful polishing with a polishing cloth should not remove the patina from the crevices and will brighten up the raised areas and accentuate them. We can re-patina most pieces at no charge.
