This is the whimsical side of my passion for design. Where I let off steam or have fun with the inspiration I get, that might not have anything to do with design, initially anyway. I love to play with contrasting ideas. Or just make something cute and unique that hasn't been done as well, or as cute, or ever. Some things I just want to see made, just once. And then maybe someone, an apprentice maybe, might see it in a workbench drawer and ask to wear it. And then it comes out of the darkness and gets worn in the world. I love when I get ideas from other people's ideas of what they like or want or a spirit animal of theirs. Or nature, but not just "flowers" and "leaves". I know it sounds a little vaque... and it all is to me, most of the time, til I find a way to give it form. And finesse.
And then I try to get out of town, to the tiny off-the-grid cabin I built, with my brother and my dad, and immerse myself in nature and the elements, which happens to be in Wisconsin, not too far from my studio in Minneapolis.
