Con Sunshine comenzó por accidente. Tenía interés en la costura, pero no conocía una bobina de un pie de prensa y no ayudó que ni siquiera tuviera una máquina de coser.

Cuando mi esposo y yo estábamos visitando a su abuela y ella estaba revisando su armario de basura y sacó un hermano modelo básico que ni siquiera se había abierto. Ella me dijo que se iba a deshacer de él y sabía que había estado buscando comprar uno, ¡así que me lo dio!

¿Qué tan bueno es eso? Ese fue probablemente el mejor regalo que alguien me ha dado, además del regalo de Dios de mi familia, por supuesto. De todos modos, pasé el siguiente año enseñándome a mí mismo, a través de prueba y error y MUCHOS tutoriales en Internet, cómo usar mi máquina para hacer ropa para mis hijos y sus primos.

Luego, otro regalo de una máquina de coser más nueva realmente cambió las cosas por completo. Pasé de estar limitado a puntos rectos y en zigzag a poder hacer todo tipo de cosas maravillosas.

Una vez que comencé a usar mi nueva máquina, no pude parar y terminé ganando tanto que sabía que necesitaba una salida que me permitiera vender mis productos hechos a mano.

Así que abrí una tienda de Etsy que finalmente terminé cerrando porque me desanimé de no vender después de un mes. Mi esposo me animó a comenzar otro casi un año después y se nos ocurrió mi nueva tienda With Sunshine.

With Sunshine started by accident. I had an interest in sewing but didn't know a bobbin from a presser foot and it didn't help that I didn't even have a sewing machine.

When my husband and I were visiting his grandmother and she was going through her junk closet and pulled out a basic model brother that had never even been opened! She told me she was going to get rid of it and knew that I had been looking into buying one, so she gave it to me!

How nice is that? That was probably the best gift anyone has given me, besides God's gift of my family of course. Anyways, I spent the next year teaching myself, through trial and error and LOTS of internet tutorials, how to use my machine to make clothing for my children and their cousins.

Then another gift of a newer sewing machine really changed things completely. I went from being limited to straight and zigzag stitches to being able to do all kinds of wonderful things.

Once I started using my new machine, I couldn't stop and I ended up making so much that I knew I needed an outlet that would allow me to sell my handmade goods.

So I opened an Etsy shop that I ultimately ended up closing because I became discouraged from no sales after a month. My husband encouraged me to start another one almost an entire year later and we came up with my new shop With Sunshine.
