Thank you for visiting my shop!

My illustrations and woodcuts often emerge as an explanation; an playful attempt to understand a story. In my work, there are investigations into the changing world that we must bravely face. I aim to evoke questions and curious thought adventures.

As a woodcut printmaker and illustrator, my work is told through drawings and relief prints. I print my woodblocks on a worn and sturdy Vandercook letterpress. The process begins with a pencil and paper. I sketch my illustrations as a way to tell a story. Once the images unfold, my illustrations are either transfered to woodblocks, watercolor paper, or turned into a book.

When illustrations are transferred to wood blocks where they are meticulously carved using woodcarving knives. I print woodcuts with one color as well as multi-color woodcut reduction prints. With woodcut reduction prints, I initially carve out the lightest color of my illustration. The block is then inked and hand printed on the press. The next lightest color is then carved away and printed once more. These steps are repeated for each color until the entire block is slowly carved away. Once this process is complete, the print can never be made again. The woodcut reduction prints are truly limited editions!

My illustrations are also created in a book format. I adore the process of telling a story through accordian books, picture books, and even non-traditional art books.
