I need... I need... to express myself!!!
I've always been a highly artistic person. When I was young, though, people convinced me that it was next to impossible to make a living from art, and I couldn't tell you how many times I heard "But you're so smart, it'd be a shame to waste it on art school...." So, I ended up getting a degree in architecture, for which I could not find a job in my area, and worked in engineering for 5 years. During those 5 years, every job was part time or temporary, and the men around me, most with less education or less experience, were paid twice as much as I was, and given permanent positions before me. Enough is enough! I lost my last temporary engineering job and decided that unless I have to, I'm not going back. Art and crafting is where my heart lies, and so that is what I am going to do. I am also active in the local community theater, and am trying to acquire funding to open a brick and mortar store in my hometown, which has a blossoming art community called the Uptown Arts District. I'm following my passion, and keeping my fingers crossed that I an be a success!!
