About

From garage to Bergdorf's...

Wonki Ware began as a small hobby of artist Di Marshall in the small town of George, Western Cape in South Africa and quickly grew to one of the leading ceramics companies in South Africa and in Europe. As her business started to grow, so did her ability to provide jobs and skills to the local people from disadvantaged backgrounds. There are now 40 skilled employers who have become valued, contributing members to their community and are continuing to train new comers in the art of making Wonki Ware as the company continues to grow.

From it's humble beginnings to being sold in large US stores such as Bergdorf Goodmans and Anthropologie, Wonki Ware has been a great success story for young aspiring artists all over the world. While we have been lucky enough to be sold at such amazing stores, we still remember the importance of small businesses and the need for young entrepreneurs. Our main focus in the United States is to provide a handmade product to small businesses throughout America in hopes that our product can make a great addition to small boutiques. We have begun with our first ever Wonki Ware boutique and wholesale distribution center in Franklin, TN.

We hope you enjoy our small online selection. If you have seen any piece in any other shop or online that you would like us to stock on Etsy, just let us know and we will get it from South Africa as soon as possible.
