It's never too late!

In June 2017 I left my job as a secondary school English teacher in Brighton and my boyfriend Andy and I packed up all our things to move to Montpellier in the South of France!

We both really wanted a complete change- more sun, more time to try new things, more space for less rent... your classic 21st century wishful thinking... But so far, it's worked out!

With more time and lower living costs, I knew this was the perfect opportunity to finally be brave and try some of the things I'd always wanted to try but had been too scared, or too busy or... have I mentioned too scared?

I had always wanted to try writing more and I REALLY wanted to be more relaxed, creative and fun. Unfortunately, I also spent years thinking that I COULDN'T do any of these things, despite never really trying. I thought that practice would never work for me because I had no talent.

BUT I was also trying to make money as a freelancer. I quickly realised that if I was going to survive and be my own boss, then I was going to have to get comfortable with TRYING. And not letting the voice in my head say 'YOU CAN'T...'

First, I set up a blog called Wonky Peach and started writing. Then I found an excellent Photoshop tutorial on Youtube (thank you so much TastyTuts) and drawing tutorials on Creativebug and Skillshare (Lisa Congdon!).

I'm not great at any of these things... YET... but I've been trying and I've loved every second of it. I hope you enjoy what I've made so far. Check back often for new things while I continue to keep trying. : )

Hello there! Until a year ago, I was an English teacher who had never used Photoshop, Illustrator or drawn a single thing. Then I quit my job, moved with my boyfriend to the South of France and started trying new things. This is the result!
