Beautiful wood lids, highly recommend them for decorating your shelves while showing off your spices and grains.

Just beautiful. The wood grain is stunning and I love how it was carved by the artist, numbered, and with the year. This will become a family heirloom. Thank you!

Wooden Maple Bowl / Wooden Serving Dish

Our steaks plates make great father's gifts.
Here you can see the beavers doing our work for us. This is a sweet gum tree that they cut down and we made some cake stands and bowls out of the wood.

About

Inspired by Nature

I began working with wood making furniture and toys when the grandkids came along. About twelve years ago, I started wood turning after going to a wood turning show in North Carolina and have been hooked ever since. Most of the wood I turn is from firewood, local trees that have fallen or were damaged by a storm.

Wood turning is a creative outlet for me after working all week in Bridge Construction. I can’t wait to pick up a piece of wood and see what the end result will be. The grain, knots, cracks and splitting all determine what will emerge. Most of the bowls and plates are oiled, waxed and buffed making them safe to be used for food. Vases, boxes and decorative items may have several coats of lacquer to get a high sheen. I use a variety of finishes but the wood used ultimately determines the finish.

After attending another wood turning show, I was inspired to begin adding decorative texturing and dye to some of my pieces for a more attractive end result.

One of the highlights of our business has been being featured in Martha Stewart Weddings Magazine, they were looking for a handmade cake stand and found ours listed online. Of course we were thrilled to see our ash cake stand in Martha Stewart Weddings magazine! Plus Sarah Engler, an editor with Martha Stewart’s Whole Living site, bought one of our walnut cake stands for her own wedding and featured it in an article about her green wedding! 2014 our Saplted Maple cake stand was feature in Fine Cooking Oct/Nov Issue and one of our small walnut cake stand was feature in a thanksgiving rustic dinnerware article in Cottages and Bungalow magazine.

Wood turning is a creative outlet for me, it allowed me total freedom to express my self in a wood form, some good and some not so good.
