Printmaking is a passion!

In 2001 I became a printmaker. My fine art web site is www.inkimage.net
I had been working as a freelance illustrator and drawing only in black
and white pen and ink for several years.
Discovering printmaking, a whole new remarkable colorful world
of ink and paper opened up to me.
For 14 years, I had also been working as a personalized specialist at a Papyrus, designing fine print invitations for weddings and other occasions.
I saw a LOT of greeting card designs, whilst working there!
I just was naturally drawn to designing my own cards, by using what I was creating in printmaking and scanning my originals, then reducing the imagery down to fit a 5 x 7 little work of art.
I knew that I did not want to mass produce my cards. I wanted to print them on archival paper and use beautiful card stock and nice envelopes, so that whomever buys one of my cards is holding a nice small piece of my art.
Also, as I care very much for the Earth, I feel that I only want to print-to-order, so there is less waste and conservation of resources.

As an artist, I am interested in sharing stories, fables, mythologies and celebrating nature myth and legends. I have interests in Magic tree lore, Pagan traditions, archaeology- primarily paleolithic era, Chinese astrology, and the Divine Feminine.
The name of my shop- Woodhorse Press is because I am a wood horse in Chinese astrology, a sign that denotes a hard working and steadfast individual.

I really enjoy the process of hand making my cards for my special customers here on etsy! The card stock is from recycled paper sources and is hand cut by me. I print the images in my studio and hand mount each one with care.
