About

Turning ordinary logs into works of art

In the winter of 2010, Eric Francis saw an advertisement for a used wood lathe. Having never used one, or really even seen one up close, he decided to take a look, and bought the lathe for $35. It sat in a corner of the garage for months before he decided to give it a try. Once he figured out where the ON button was, he was hooked.

Turning is Eric's favorite outlet for artistic expression. Always learning something new, Eric now produces fine bowls, urns, vases and other vessels that are both useful and beautiful.

Most of my work is turned on an antique lathe using wood gathered where I can find it. None of it is exotic or rare, and all of it is collected from fallen trees. Objects I make from the logs I discover are primarily decorative; sometimes they can be useful for holding things like water, flowers, coins...even potatoes. The primary usefulness of my work is the beauty of the wood. I hope you enjoy the results of my work as much as I enjoy producing it.

Shipping
Now shipping Internationally!
I usually ask for the cost of shipping, not marked up. However, shipping is estimated based upon weight of the piece, so it may be just a little off. I won't gouge you on it though. Usually I can estimate within a few cents how much shipping will be. If I overestimate shipping, I will refund you the difference.
Refunds and Exchanges
If it's my fault, I'll make it right. If it's your fault, maybe we can still work something out.
Additional policies and FAQs
Custom orders are welcome. In fact, I have sold more through custom orders than I have through Etsy listings. Please ask if there is something you would like to have made for you, and I will do my best.
