I have made toys for my children since the first one over 20 years ago. I loved the feeling of creating something that they loved and played with for years.

When the recession hit in 2008 my husband lost his job. We lost almost everything and learned a lot about what really matters. I learned a lot about how little you really need to be happy. Those years were so hard, and yet we found happiness in the little things.

During that time, Busy Being Me (our original shop name) became a business out of necessity. When my husband found a job, it was in Oklahoma City, and so we packed up our kids, the few things left to our name, and left family and friends behind to start again.

Woodland Toy Company is our next stage. We now work together, as a family, to create imagination inspiring toys. Teaching my kids now 24, 14 and 11 that hard work and dedication is how you achieve your dreams; and pay for braces. :)
