About

A place for gear and goods for the wild at heart

I started my shop legitimately in 2011, after getting a little too adjusted to living the quiet cabin life and wanting to find an outlet to represent all of the things I cherish and hold dear to my soul. Woodlands Wanderer is for the outdoorsmen, the conservationists and naturalists, and even for the spiritual wanting to get closer to our roots and the earth. We use natural, sustainable, ethically sourced materials that have been valued for thousands of years and allow us to get back to nature - something lost in today's world, yet holds the key for the health of our minds and bodies. The items made allow us to stay connected to our natural world, and serve to constantly remind us of our love, our passions, and respect and reverence to all mother nature holds.

Why I do what I do: For as long as I can remember I've always had a deep passion for all things in the natural world. I've always been drawn to the plants and wildlife and knew from a young age that it's something I knew I wanted to devote my life towards, and I am. When using parts that came from animals; ie, bones, furs, and leather, I deeply try to honor the life it once had in the most respectful way that I can. I make sure to create something that will be cherished by someone who understands and honors those same values. There is something truly unique in what is found in the nature world...the shapes, colors, patterns, textures, symmetries, and even pure durability of things like bone, leather, or wood that man simply can not recreate. These resources are completely sustainable and have been depended on by mankind since the beginning. I work incredibly hard to find my supplies, and the source is incredibly important to me. From my own ethical standpoint, I specifically do not buy from furrier companies, trappers, trophy hunters, etc. If not found second-hand, I buy from small and trusted leather tanneries and personally known taxidermists. Each listing will note where the supplies were obtained if available. Any questions? Please feel free to contact me.
