Announcement   Welcome to the 1UP Forge!
I recycle broken down video game systems, controllers, and other peripherals. I give new life to these amazing gaming machines of the past making many creative and functional items from home decor to wearable jewelry. No working video games are harmed in my creations. All my items are carefully engineered and made to last. Most of my hard work is hidden inside the consoles, controllers, etc. making my items look simple and minimalist but that is the beauty of my work. I consider each piece to be a work of art and take pride in my unique craft. It’s a new medium that has vast applications in the modern era. I’m keeping these pieces out of landfills and curating small bits of video game history at the same time.

Thanks for looking!

Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions.

I've had this for a week now I think? This has made my life a little more convenient. I've gotten used hanging my keys that are on my lanyards unlike most ppl I wear mine on my neck. So it was a hassle putting them any where on my desk or my coffee table. I wanted them up high. Same for my little plushies. My Miku plushie and chocolate cornet I got as bonus for ordering a Lucky Star box set. They were taking up space among my other stuff so this helped me out tremendously! I look forward too buying from you again 1upforge.

I've received this N64 wall hook/hanger and used it for a week now I don't remember when it arrived in the mail. But I'll say I'm glad I bought it! I use it hold up my Nintendo Switch elite players backpack I hang my work clothes up on it. I bought this because I got tired of putting my backpack on the floor in random places. I needed a neat and cool place to put it and this is it!

About

Video game geekery, art, and more!

I am an avid old school gamer who spent many hours as a child playing the Atari 2600. When I wasn’t grasping that joystick with one orange button I would have my hands filled with pencils and drawing paper doodling and coloring. I always knew I wanted to combine these two things I loved the most: art and video games.

With this idea always brewing in my head I eventually became a high school art teacher and repaired vintage video games on the side. When I could not fix something instead of throwing it out I turned it into something new and usable. My very first upcycle was turning a broken NES console into a lunch box. I started having more fun playing with the broken stuff rather than the working stuff. I had so much fun, in fact, that I decided to quit my teaching job to pursue my realized dream of working with video games and art full time.

I’m constantly stretching my imagination to come up with new and innovated ideas for recycling video game peripherals. To me a pile of broken video game equipment is not trash but rather a pile of possibilities. It’s a new medium that has vast applications in the modern era. I’m keeping these pieces out of landfills and curating small bits of video game history at the same time.

I use almost any gaming system you can think of including: Nintendo NES, Super Nintendo, N64, Nintendo GameCube, Nintendo Wii and Wii U, Playstation 1, PS2, PS3, PS4, Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Atari 2600, Sega Genesis, Sega Dreamcast and others.

Let me know if you need any further information, I am happy to answer any questions you may have.

Additional policies and FAQs
FAQs:
Q: Why did you destroy all of these perfectly working video games, are you some kind of crazy person?
A: I only use non working video game parts in my creations. If I get a hold of something that works or if I can fix it easily then I will not make art out of it. The crazy part is debatable.

Q: What types of gaming systems/controllers do you use?
A: Nintendo NES, Super Nintendo, N64, Nintendo GameCube, Nintendo Wii and Wii U, Playstation 1, PS2, PS3, PS4, Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Atari 2600, Sega Genesis, Sega Dreamcast and others. Let me know if you want me to use a system or controllers not mentioned here, I can most likely find it.

Q: Where do you get all of the video games?
A: Rummage sales, auctions, and video game stores who want to get rid of their broken stuff.
