About

Wool Finch Studio - How it came into being.

Hi there, I am mother to a girl And two boys. I'm originally from Germany where I first trained as a kindergarten teacher and got to know the Waldorf/Steiner approach very well. I loved it, and it became my chosen path in life. Wool has always played a big part in my life, from my grandfather keeping sheep, to dressing my own family in it. A couple of years ago, myself and an artist friend Mia Foley, discovered the endless possibilities of needle-felting. Since then, that passion has turned into a lifestyle; we are holding Woolly Gatherings, a collaboration of Fiber artists, where we all teach different aspects from traditional cable knitting to fancy and stylized crocheting, all kinds of felting techniques, dying workshops, spinning and practical workshops like how to read a pattern or use a sewing machine.

Wool Finch Studio started of as a supply shop supporting the Woolly Gatherings. Now it has branched out into a separate business, still supplying crafters and artists alike.
And all of this is happening in the beautiful hills of Co. Clare...
