About

Spinning adventures of the woolly kind!

I love my Etsy shop! Its the place where I can share my yarns and inspirations with others. Through my shop I have made some wonderful connections and discoveries! What you see here is the end result of a process, a very enjoyable one for me :) Whenever possible I work with wool bought direct from the farm as a 'raw' product, it needs careful washing, then I get the really fun part, dyeing! I use a commercial acid dye product that provides some wonderfully vibrant colours but can also be diluted into pretty pastels and softer tones. I use several different techniques to colour the wool, depending on what kind of spinning techniques I am going to use.

I find the activity of spinning to be everything from very relaxing, to quite exciting! The creation of traditional, plied yarns is a calm and simple process, a craft that has been basically unchanged for centuries, but yet has its challenges as I am always striving for a more perfect, even yarn that gives nice predictable results for knitters and crocheters. And then there are the art yarns and textured yarns, crazy bulky bobbly statements that can make some really amazing projects. I love to incorporate other things into my yarns, like sparkly threads, beads, feathers, into my art yarns, anything goes! Its a chance to get really creative, use my technical knowledge as the background but letting go of the idea of conformity to create something unusual and unique.

One of the best things about my shop, is that I am sending out 'my' finished product to other people, for whom it is a starting point for their own projects, and they then transform it into some else new and unique!

I'm a serious colour geek, loving the entire process of creating handspun yarns, from sheep to spinning wheel. I make functional textured yarns and art yarns, ready to be transformed again by knitters, crocheters, and felters everywhere.

Welcome to the place where I share my handspun wools and art yarns! I hope your visit here will be fun and that you will find something you will love :) Spinning is a passion for me, as well as my way of relaxing, I so enjoy the colours I can create and the activity of spinning itself :) I would love to think that all the yarn I create will be turned into items that will be loved for a very long time :)

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
Payment
Payment is via Paypal at checkout. Please convo me if you want to arrange term payments. You may use the 'other' option at checkout only if you have a WoolWench Gift Certificate that you are redeeming against your purchase.
Shipping
All orders will be shipped within 48 hours, unless it is a custom or on demand order, in which case shipping time will be stated in the listing. Shipping times within Europe are generally 3-5 days, to the USA allow 10-20 working days for your parcel to arrive (although its often sooner).

To keep shipping costs down, whenever possible I ship my skeins flat: folded around a card, rather than in a twist, this allows me to post as envelope not as a parcel (Dutch post is much more costly for a parcel!). The yarn is tied so will arrive to you still in great condition!
Refunds and Exchanges
If you want to return your item for any reason (ie colours not as you expected) I will offer a refund in most cases, however, the item has to arrive back to me in the same condition as it was when I sent it, and shipping is your responsibility and will not be refunded. Please contact me within 7 DAYS of receiving the yarn if you want to return it, I will ensure that your refund is ready for payment for as soon as I have received the yarn back and ensured it meets the same condition that I sent it in. Remember, if you want a refund you must contact me within 7 days of receipt of your yarn, or a refund will not be given.
