If you choose check Ill assume that you are aware of the hold and don't mind the wait. This is the buyers choice.

I offer lay-away, my stand plan is 6 weeks but I can adjust this up to 12 weeks for much larger purchases. I offer bi-weekly and weekly plans. The deposit amount depends on which plan you choose.

RESERVES: Reserves are great! I use them often and reserve my items often.

***Buyers that abuse my reserve policy, or any of my policies, will not be allowed to repurchase from this shop again.

OFFERS:

I accept offers on most items. Any offer within reason will be entertained. This does not include offers of 30-75 percent off! There are some items cannot be reduced and the likelihood of a reduction depends greatly on the item and how long its been listed and if the item has already been reduced. Coupon codes and other discounts cannot be used in addition to any offer based reduction.

***I reserve the right to refuse service to buyers that have abused my policies or terms and/or cancel any order that breaches my policies or terms of service. If I feel that a buyer has misrepresented themselves or their payment orif the buyer is abusive to me or my shop - I will cancel the sale and refuse service thereafter. I pride myself on being a reliable, honest seller and only ask that my buyers honor my policies and terms in return. Mutual respect and integrity are crucial to a successful business relationship. My policies are thorough as I have learned through trial and error what should be included. Please read them and ask questions. I'll happily address any concerns.

What are the different jewelry periods?
Periods of Vintage and Estate Jewelry Jewelry which is termed ‘vintage’ includes many decades or eras. Each era has many different designs. These eras include Georgian, Early Victorian, Mid-Victorian, Late Victorian, Arts and Crafts era, Art Nouveau, Edwardian, Art Deco and Retro.

Georgian Jewelry (1714-1837)

Georgian era jewelry is handmade, making the quality of each piece variable. Needless to say, Georgian jewelry is very rare. Often featuring nature-inspired designs such as leaves and birds, Georgian jewelry frequently includes precious stones.

Early Victorian, Romantic Jewelry (1837-1850)

Like jewelry of the Georgian era, early Victorian era jewelry features nature-inspired designs. Frequently, these designs would be delicately and intricately etched into gold. Lockets and brooches were popular everyday jewelry during the early Victorian era whereas colored gemstones and diamonds were worn during the evening.

Mid-Victorian, Grand Jewelry (1860-1880)

Because the Grand or Mid-Victorian era corresponded with the death of Queen Victoria’s husband, many jewelry pieces have solemn, grave designs. Known as mourning jewelry, the pieces feature heavy, dark stones. Jet, onyx, amethyst, and garnet are frequently found in jewelry from this period. The jewelry also became especially creative during this period. More colorful designs were born featuring shells, mosaics and colorful gemstones.

Late Victorian, Aesthetic Jewelry (1885-1900)

During the Late Victorian or Aesthetic period, jewelers used diamonds and feminine, bright gemstones such as sapphire, peridot, and spinel. Star and crescent designs as well as elaborate hat pins were also popular.

Arts and Crafts Jewelry (1894-1923)

Due to the Industrial Revolution, many jewelry designers rebelled during the Arts and Crafts movement, returning to intricate jewelry designs and handmade craftsmanship. It was common for jewelry of this era to be simple in pattern, made of colorful, uncut stones.

Art Nouveau Jewelry (1895-1915)

Designed by Rene Jules Lalique in France and other jewelers in America, Art Nouveau jewelry features natural designs such as flowers and butterflies.

Edwardian Jewelry (1901-1910)

The Edwardian period was born when Queen Victoria died and her son Edward became king. During this period, expensive gemstones such as diamonds, emeralds and rubies and elaborate designs were the fashion.

Art Deco Jewelry (1920-1935)

Influenced by African, Egyptian and Japanese themes, Art Deco jewelry is famous for its geometric designs, sharp lines, and bright colors. Bakelite, celluloid, enamel and doublets were used frequently during this era. Necklaces were long and bracelets were worn many at a time. Amber and murano beads were worn as well as chokers.

Retro Jewelry (1940s)

Inspired by Hollywood, Retro jewelry is colorful, bold and elaborate. Commonly worn were large cocktail rings, bracelets, watches, necklaces and charm bracelets.

About

My daughter brought me here

When my daughter was born premature at 30 weeks I soon realized that my new role as a mother was going to be much bigger than I had ever imagined.
When my daughter was released from the NICU she only weighed 4lbs, even after a 40 day stay.I had always planned to stay home briefly and then return to the job that I loved so much but my daughter needed me. And I needed to be with her.
So I chose the only option that made sense- to become a full time mother.

After my angel was home I decided to open a shop to sell off my large collection. My shop has also become a way to learn and connect. My knowledge has increased by a measure I could never have imagined! I try to learn something new every single day and share something that Ive learned with someone else each day. There is so much more to jewelry! It is not just metal and gemstones. The techniques and processes and history are what fascinate me and Im delighted to find that others feel the same.
The finished product is a testament to the work that went into creating it.

Who am I?

I am a mother and a nursing student, vintage enthusiast and lover of simple things. I love to write, treasure hunt and create things using both my hands and imagination.
I love everything vintage, not just jewelry.

How I started

Ive always been a collector of jewelry and have great appreciation for the work that goes into making these beautiful things. Ive always been told by my friends and family that I have "the eye" for jewelry, even as a young lady. Like most hobbies or talents, it just comes from lots of experience. After seeing so many pieces you gain a knack for distinguishing quality. Ive read the books and articles and have consulted with many, many jewelers but still rely mainly on my "eye."

I sometimes sold pieces that Id found in my late teens and early twenties. Either I was selling or trading my pieces to co-workers, friends and family or part time. It is fun to search out lovely old pieces. I would devote most of my spare time to searching and researching.
Ive been a collector for about 20 years now. My how time flies!

The find

Etsy is my only venue, you will not find my items listed anywhere else. Everything I list here was hand picked by me. I dont like to stick to one era or material or style of jewelry either- but my favorite pieces are the grand Art Deco pieces. The older, the better.
I search high and low for things that I love and only list things that I am proud to share. I never, ever buy an item just because I can get a good price on it or just to sell it and make a profit. I hope that you can appreciate the hand picked quality of collection.

Whats new

I have recently gone back to school to become a nurse so that I can work in the field that I know and love. I have also taken metalsmithing classes and dream of the day that I can make and share my own jewelry.

When I'm not studying or enjoying my angel you will find me searching for beautiful "new" treasure. I spend as much time as I can searching through the old and unwanted, researching, photographing and listing and enjoy every minute of it. I

Thank you

I've met some of the most amazing people here and am so glad that I chose Etsy as my home.
You've made me feel so welcome and I am forever grateful!

Refunds and Exchanges
A responsible seller always has a return policy available for prior review and a responsible buyer should always read the policy before purchase. There is no fine print in my shop!

OVERVIEW
All sales are deemed final with few, if any, exceptions.

I do not accept returns or exchanges or issue shop credits and I ask that you do not return items. Serious buyers only please.

In the rare instance that I accept a return, it will be according to the policy outlined below. Any return will ONLY be due to obvious GROSS NEGLIGENCE (neglect) on the part of this shop.
This by definition would include statements made or details listed without ANY REASONABLE justification, assumption or estimation.
This will never happen with a careful and responsible seller like myself!
I accept the rigid responsibility of being extremely careful in exchange for my no return policy.

I never, ever, under any circumstance will seek to mislead my precious buyers or misrepresent my items for personal gain. Ever.
Integrity is extremely important to me.
I run my business in a way that would "make my Mom proud."
I do not use my policy to shield myself from responsibility, only to protect myself. In other words- this policy is not in place to absolve me of any accountability, it is only to avoid abuse of a return policy.

Estimates (measurements, weights, specs and details) are just that my friends, an estimation or reasonably educated guess or approximation. A lot of time and thought and research goes into every aspect of my listings. I do not just guess and hope for the best. I myself utilize tools such as the web, professional opinion and experience, literature- all for the sake of comparison and education. My handy tools include a loupe, nitric acid, scale, caliper and presidium and diamond testers -just to name a few.
I am not a jeweler though I often seek the opinion of my jeweler if in doubt. I myself am only a very experienced seller. Even jewelers and professionals make assumptions through educated estimates and sometimes even make honest mistakes.

CONDITION
Antique and vintage items are OLD and have been used- some of them not so much and some of them extensively.
ALL of my items will show some degree of wear. Expect it and embrace it.
The complete history and details are rarely readily available as they are with modern or newer items. They often lack hallmarks and packaging and the manufacturer is normally long gone. My items are decades to centuries old and vintage items are very rarely in minty condition.
Signs of use MUST be expected when you buy used items and this must be an accepted part of buying secondhand.
You will show signs of age when you are older as well! Hopefully people will respect that and love you for what you are- a valuable, irreplaceable piece of history. Vintage items are no different at all.

TERMS
I do not accept returns, offer exchange, issue refunds or store credit because you didn't read my policy, don't like the item, it does not fit, or due to buyers remorse, etc. Items should never be purchased with the intent to try them out, just to see them in person and return them.
These are just not legal, justifiable or reasonable reasons for any return.

I do not foster an environment that encourages abuse of a return policy so I have opted instead to work hard to be as accurate as possible and make all sales final.
If you abuse this policy, you will not be allowed to repurchase from this shop.

LAY-AWAY
Deposits/ lay-away payments on items are NEVER, EVER refundable. No exceptions!
No exchanges or store credit will be offered if you do not follow through with the lay-away agreement. Lay-away is for serious, dedicated buyers only. Make sure that you can pay for it before you agree to purchase.

I have held these items long term away from other potential buyers.
This policy is reasonable and pretty standard among any businesses or shops that offer lay-away plans.

HOW YOU CAN AVOID A RETURN
Please ask me questions. I love questions and will answer any question that I can.
View the photos and read the descriptions. Read my policies in full.

If you need more info or need pictures for your consideration- please ask me. If I have them, I will supply them upon request. I take many more photos than those that are listed and usually keep them on file. I normally have additional views of the items I sell.
It is your responsibility to make an informed decision and I will be very, VERY HAPPY to help you.

SHIPPING RELATED ISSUES
Damaged items should be taken to USPS, not shipped back to me which voids the insurance. I will NOT accept broken or damaged items back, items that are missing parts or items that have been altered in ANY way.
This includes careless and damaging testing of items.
I should receive the item(s) the exact way that it was shipped to you, matching the photos in the listing. Please note that I almost always keep extra photos on file in addition to what is in the listing.
If the listing doesnt state "insurance included", just contact me and I can add it BEFORE you purchase.
If you do not ask and it doesnt state that its included in the listing, or have an upgrade option stating insurance- assume that the item will ship uninsured at your own risk. I try to keep my rates low for you and don't always automatically include insurance in the rate.

RETURN PROTOCOL
In the event that this shop accepts a return,it will be under these guidelines only:

I ONLY accept items that a returned in the original condition, undamaged and complete with no missing pieces or parts. This is critical.

Domestic refunds are issued via the original method paid, only. I charge a 15% restocking fee for all returns.

All shipping costs both ways are non-refundable and all are the responsibility of the buyer.

If you cancel an order after you have already paid for but before it has been shipped, a 10% restocking fee will be subtracted from the refund.
You have purchased an item, removed it from this shop and held it away from other buyers!

Orders that were paid for and that were shipped and/or are returned because you do not pick the package up from the shipper, do not sign for the package or if the item is returned as not deliverable due to issues with your supplied address- will be charged the standard 15% restocking fee. Shipping is never refundable if an order has been shipped.

Buyers that do not complete a purchase as promised or do not pay will not be able to purchase from my shop in the future.

I accept returns only with my prior approval and only if the following reasonable conditions are met:

You must contact me within 24 hours of delivery (Delivery date will be confirmed via tracking) to let me know you would like to return the item(s) and the item(s) must be returned to me within 72 hours (confirmed with tracking and/or receipt that the item is in transit) of receiving. The item must be back in my hands within 7 days of delivery to you.
You should know right away if there is a concern and the item should be returned immediately. Items not meeting this timeline (and condition requirements) will not receive a refund.

I recommend fully insuring the items during a return and you must include tracking so that it does not return to me damaged or get lost or stolen while in transit. If the item doesn't make it to me or doesn't arrive in the original condition I will not issue a refund.
The returned contents will ALWAYS be verified for my protection and to prevent fraud.

Refunds approved by USPS due to damage or loss during shipping are issued by the united states post office only, not by this shop. You will work directly with USPS (or other shipping service if used) during this process. They have their own policy for claims that you must follow and this includes but is not limited to: retaining all original shipping materials. If you discard them, your claim with the shipping service will likely be denied. You must comply with USPS fully to be eligible for a claim refund through them. I do not issue refunds because you were denied a refund by the shipping service.

If you decline insurance by not asking for it and/or paying for it (if not already included),it will ship without insurance and I cannot be held responsible for damage, loss or theft.

This policy is in place only so that you can make an informed decision before you purchase from this shop. In the rare event of a return, I want it to be smooth and outlined beforehand. There are no exceptions and by purchasing, you agree to follow the policies and guidelines outlined within this shop.
Parts of this policy can often be found in my shop announcement and on your receipt/invoice under "sellers notes."
I do, very much, want you to be happy and please note that I have had only 1 returns out of 2,400 sales to date. So I have a lot of happy buyers and I act responsibly 100% of the time.

In short, please ask questions, extend the respect that you expect and opt fo insurance!
Additional policies and FAQs
Please note that this shop DOES pursue and prosecute fraudulent buyers and payments. Returned payment fees and loss of payment are always the responsibility of the buyer.

Frequently asked questions

What is a reserve? Do you offer reserves?

My reserve policy is stated in my shop announcement.
Reserves are a brief hold that secure an item for a particular buyer and will not at any time be used to hold items away from other buyers while you decide.
Reserves are only used to hold items that have been reduced for you and need to be secured for you.
If you request a reserve and do not follow through, you will not be allowed to purchase from my shop at any time in the future.
Reserving or purchasing items that you do not intend to pay for is not only against Esty guidelines but expressly goes against mine.
Reserves are generally for no longer than 12-24 hours.
If you need additional time to arrange payment, this must be approved prior to purchase.
Questions? Contact me.

Gift wrapping and packaging

I use recycled materials whenever possible. This means that your packaging may not be pristine or pretty BUT all items are packaged securely and carefully. If you need a gift box, please ask me before purchase to make sure that I have suitable second hand gift boxes available.

Do you accept PayPal or Credit Cards through Etsy?

No. This shop has always been a paper only shop (since 2011). Every order that you see was paid for by a check or MO. I do not accept credit cards, only checks with a 7 business day hold or USPS postal money orders with no hold time.
Please see my policy or shop announcement for details. Or, contact me.

Do you offer lay-away?

Any full priced item over $175 is eligible for lay-away. I can not set up a lay-away on any "offer" priced listing. Coupon codes and discounts do not apply to lay-always.
Deposits range from 15%-25%. Standard lay-away length is 6 weeks for orders under $500, and I can negotiate longer plans for larger orders.
You MUST contact me prior to purchase and receive approval for lay-away. Do not purchase and then request a lay-away as I cannot alter an invoice or set up a lay-away once you have checked out.
Your lay-away begins once the deposit listing has been purchased.
Make sure that you are familiar with my payment method as a lay-away requires you to send me installments by mail according to you payment schedule.
