Repairing typewriters for distraction free writing.
This shop started out when I finally decided to follow up on the long standing need for a typewriter. I've always loved writing, but I have a hard time getting away from the computer, and it's always easier to watch yet another movie than to create something like a good story.
A typewriter was the perfect way to get me to actually write rather than just think about writing.
When I started collecting them, I noticed that a few of them were broken and so I tinkered until they were working again. The idea that I can literally see and feel what is wrong with my machines really attracted me. Computers are close to magic, but I can understand and work with typewriters.
A couple of my friends were inspired and started using typewriters too. I fixed their machines when they were broken, and eventually decided to start selling typewriters to people who want to use them for writing too.
Now I've sold typewriters to over 40 countries and I'm close to having machines in every state of the USA. (North Dakota and West Virginia, I am coming for you).
My machines are in museums, in art galleries and in the homes of thousands of collectors and writers from all over the world.
If you have any questions about anything, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best wishes,
Wessel
