Announcement    Summer is still here, and I have been doing a lot of photography! Sunflowers, Great Blue Herons, Hydrangeas, sea shells, mountains and more have been captured through my lens this summer. Each note card is beautiful -- and I can make enlarged prints as well! (Just send me a message about an enlargement if you don't see it featured. I can make metal prints as well!)

Each note card features an actual photograph mounted on coordinating decorative paper. This is then mounted on a classic, 80 lb., ivory linen note card, and has an envelope with the swatch of the decorative paper. They can be purchased individually or as sets of four (or more), packaged in tissue paper and a beautiful organza bag.

Thank you for visiting WrenHandGoods. Please let me know if you have any questions.

If you would like to keep up with my photography and occasional blog, please visit my website at www.wren-photos.com. You also can follow me on Facebook: www.Facebook.com/Wrenhandgoods, and on Instagram @wren_nature_photos.

About WrenHandGoods

The nature of things.

I have loved nature since I was a child. At that time, my family spent several weeks each summer at our cabin in Ohio. My mother would take me on walks through the woods, and we would gather moss, stones and plants to make nature bowls. My brother and I would play in the creek. The love of nature has been part of me ever since.

So have the arts. Several years ago, my dear friend gave me a camera in hopes that my creative expression could once again be sparked. A few years ago, that happened. In the midst of needing to see God in the details in my life, I picked up the camera and began photographing the nature right around me. What started as a simple idea soon grew to a daily habit of photographing plants and birds right in my neighborhood. I was amazed at the details the lens could capture that I’d never seen. As I photographed the same route over the course of seasons, I began to learn how things change over time. Indeed, I began to see God in the details, and how those related to me.

Then in the fall of 2015, I began to make cards with my photographs, backing them with decorative paper and mounting them on linen note cards. In this process I thrilled in how the paper picked up the colors in the photographs. Next thing I knew, I was part of a home craft show, and with the sale of several cards, the inspiration to try to sell them more broadly began to grow.

And thus began Wren. The name came when a friend asked me what was my favorite bird, and why. I have loved birds for many years. Wrens, specifically, became a fascination years ago, because they make such creative and different nests out of the variety of materials around them. Indeed, no two wren nests look alike. Over the course of time and reflection, I have realized that that is the basis on which my own sense of home and life has been based -- making a creative environment with the available (and meaningful) things around me....giving a comfortable place for friends and family to rest and grow, and then to fly in whom they've been made to be. It was a growing process for me that how we did family and who I was just may not look like everyone else.

Over time, I will begin adding other handmade items to WrenHandGoods. At present, I am focusing on working with my photographs on note cards. Most of the photographs were taken in my neighborhood. A few were taken on vacations. I hope they draw you to look more closely at the beauty and details that are right there before you.
