About WrenPottery

Sales 91
On Etsy since 2015

Julie, the artist behind Wren Pottery lives on an island in the coastal rain forest of Southeast Alaska with her husband and two children. She draws inspiration from the raw wilderness of the sea and lush forests, and from the small wonders of nature found among the grand landscape. She creates pottery that is rustic yet minimal, and rich in color and form. Her wheel thrown pieces aim to offer an element of joy and beauty to our everyday rituals of eating and drinking. Each piece is unique in subtle ways allowing the innate character of the clay and glaze to express itself, rather than controlling each piece to conform into perfect uniformity. Through dedicated work, Julie continually develops a deeper understanding of what it means to be a potter, a maker of goods, as well as an artist.
