About

Transforming the world one light switch at a time

Although the bulk of my shop is light switch covers, I do a lot more than just that. I've been drawing and painting since childhood. My grandmother encouraged this in my by letting me draw and create for hours at her house and she would hang every single creation on her wall until her walls were completely covered. I took some art classes in high school and college and really learned a lot about new techniques. Over the last decade, I've had paintings featured in exhibits at the local art museum and some have been sold at charity art auctions. I mainly do the paintings and drawings on the side as a hobby, because I love it.

The idea for this shop started in 2009. I was working part time and remodeling my house. I had been looking for creative ways to add a little something fun to each room and had been buying decorative light switch covers online. One day I decided to look up how they were made and realized I could make them myself. After making my first one, I showed it to a co-worker who said "Hey! You can sell those!" I wasn't working very many hours back then so I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately I didn't know where to start. Then one day a couple months later, a few of us at work were admiring a patient's necklace and she told us she got it on Etsy. She explained to us what Etsy was and I opened this shop during my lunch hour that day. That decision completely changed my life. Now, just a couple short years later, nearly everyone in my hometown knows to come to me when they are looking for a creative way to decorate a room in their house. I sometimes get some interesting requests when it comes to my paintings on vinyl records, but I am always up for the challenge. One of my record paintings has recently become a logo for a DJ business.

I now work full time, but still manage this shop on the side. Sometimes it gets difficult to find time and things such as my blog tend to get neglected. However, I love the Etsy community and how supportive everyone is. I have become a huge supporter of buying local and handmade. I feel these little shops and businesses are what keeps this country going and we all need to continue to support each other.

I absolutely love art and I've been drawing ever since I could pick up a crayon. The beauty of nature inspires me and I'd like to think that when I look at something, I see what it can become. Anything can be made into something beautiful.

    Shipping

With the much welcomed increase in sales over the last few months, it was getting difficult for me to keep up with shipping while working full time. So, I have recruited my wonderful husband, Nick, as my shipper. He has been doing an excellent job!

Payment
Currently I only accept payments through PayPal.
Shipping
Items will ship within 3-5 business days of receiving payment. I am currently shipping to the U.S. and Canada. However I am willing to ship other places if you send me a convo expressing your interest in an item and tell me where you are located. I will then calculate the shipping cost and if you are still interested, we can make arrangements. I prefer to ship in the most economic way possible, so it may take longer for international purchases.
Refunds and Exchanges
I send messages out when I ship an item to let you know that the item has shipped. If you do not receive the item within 2 weeks of getting that message, please let me know. I will either replace the lost item free of charge, or refund your money. If the item is damaged when you receive it, please file a claim with the post office who shipped it.
