We didn't just grow up loving this stuff — we never stopped.
We started X Gen Arts because we kept running into the same problem — we'd walk through a theme park or finish rewatching a movie we'd seen a hundred times and think, I want that on my wall. Not a mass produced poster from a big box store, but something that actually captured the feeling of the thing. The art behind it. The imagination that made it worth loving in the first place.
Theme parks were a constant in our lives growing up. We were the kids who spent entire summers in those parks, riding the same attractions over and over, memorizing every detail of every queue, every mural, every painted backdrop. We weren't just there for the rides — we were there for the worlds. The way you could step into something that someone had imagined completely from scratch and feel like it was absolutely real. That never left us. If anything it got more intense the older we got and the more we understood about how much craft and intention went into building those experiences.
That led us pretty naturally to the artists behind it all. The concept illustrators and designers who worked quietly in the background while the rest of us just got to stand there with our mouths open. Mary Blair's color. Marc Davis's characters. The whole tradition of people who drew entire universes into existence with nothing but paint and an idea. That's what this shop is really about — honoring that legacy by putting great art in the hands of people who appreciate it.
We're a small operation doing this because we genuinely love it. Every print in this shop is something we would hang in our own home and that's the only standard we apply when building the collection. We're Gen X through and through, which means we have strong opinions, we don't follow trends, and we take the things we love seriously without taking ourselves too seriously.
We may be a newer shop but we are not new to this. Between us we bring over a decade of experience as top rated Etsy sellers with thousands of five star sales behind us. We started X Gen Arts in 2024 because we wanted to build something focused entirely on the art and the culture we are most passionate about, and we are bringing every bit of that experience with us. Every print in this shop is something we would hang in our own home and that is the only standard we apply.
If you grew up riding dark rides before they had screens in them, quoting movies your parents probably didn't want you watching, and taping things off the TV because you knew you'd want to watch them again — you're exactly who we built this shop for. And if you're younger than us and you just have great taste, welcome. The art doesn't care how old you are. That's kind of the whole point.
