Etsy en Nest zijn er trots op dat ze het Indigenous Artisans Collective ondersteunen, het nieuwste cohort binnen het Etsy Uplift Makers Program, met winkels van inheemse makers die zijn aangesloten bij 10 inheemse groepen in de Verenigde Staten en de First Nations van Canada.
Veel makers beoefenen ambachtelijke vaardigheden die zijn geïnspireerd door of doorgegeven door mentoren uit familie en gemeenschap. Productcollecties omvatten zorgvuldig handgemaakte huishoudelijke artikelen, sieraden en andere accessoires ter ere van de cultuur en het erfgoed van de maker. Traditioneel handwerk heeft nog steeds een aanzienlijke culturele waarde en economische kansen voor veel inheemse gemeenschappen.
Via Uplift Makers: Indigenous Artisans Collective helpen Etsy en Nest digitale markttoegang en economische kansen te creëren voor inheemse makers, terwijl ze ambachtslieden ook voorzien van middelen en hulpmiddelen om een succesvol online bedrijf te helpen runnen. Van door experts geleide digitale marketingtraining, onboarding-ondersteuning en een aangepaste bronnenbibliotheek: het programma biedt de deelnemers een uitgebreid programmapakket. Daarnaast pakt het programma de belangrijkste obstakels aan waarmee nieuwe ondernemers worden geconfronteerd, zoals het aanbieden van professionele fotografie om de creatieve inhoud vast te leggen die nodig is om hun talent te laten zien en nieuwe klanten te bereiken in het huidige digitale tijdperk.

About the Indigenous Artisans Collective
Etsy and Nest are proud to support the Indigenous Artisans Collective, the latest cohort within the Etsy Uplift Makers Program, featuring shops from Indigenous makers affiliated with 10 Indigenous groups across the United States and the First Nations of Canada.
Many makers practice craft skills inspired by or passed down from family and community mentors. Product collections include meticulously handcrafted home goods, jewelry, and other accessories in honor of the maker’s culture and heritage. Traditional handcraft continues to hold significant cultural value and economic opportunity among many Indigenous communities.
Through the Uplift Makers: Indigenous Artisans Collective, Etsy, and Nest are helping to create digital market access and economic opportunities for Indigenous makers while also providing artisans with resources and tools to help run a successful online business. From expert-led digital marketing training, onboarding support, and a custom resource library, the program delivers a comprehensive suite of programming to participants. Additionally, the program addresses key barriers new business owners face, such as providing professional photography to capture the creative content needed to showcase their talent and reach new customers in today’s digital era.
