Taking a break from carving to make the obligatory Superb Owl post! The original Owl woodcut print edition is sold out now, so I am now offering postcards on wood veneer.

Realized I had a 4 x 6” frame on hand so I popped a Krampus card into it! Now it’s transformed from a card into an eye-catching piece of decor. I favor framing wood veneer art without glass, but you can use glass as well. #art #Krampus

Did you know? The maple Woodland Rites has the potential to be displayed with backlighting. Even just holding it up in front of a sunny window gives it a warm glow and brings out the wood grain.

Had to print another batch of Krampus cards today, so I made some on my new cedar (shown) and oak. They’ll need 3 days to dry so they’ll be available later this week. #art #handmade #krampus #krampuskarten #christmas

I printed a new batch of Tsathoggua today and by sheer chance several sheets of cherry had well-placed knots. This is why I love working with natural materials, chance variations can be stunning!

Particularly nice knot in one of my new sheets of maple veneer. Such dramatic patterns are not common, so I always make an effort to save pieces like this for prints that won’t cover it up.

Q: Are you playing with a Krampus pin when you should be carving a new woodcut? A: Maybe.
