I was born and raised on the island of Oahu but now happily live and sew in Hilo on Hawaii Island. I was fortunate to start my sewing-selling venture in the heyday of Craft Fairs. My first Fair was one of the now infamous Diamond Head Crater Festivals. Yikes!
My endeavors then were crocheted bikinis and teeny little shorts outfits. Having survived that 1st show then the rest of the 70's I found that my sewing creations were well received. Hippie stuff along with myself, changed with the times. Growing from swimwear to Aloha print shorts sets to pedal pusher outfits to dresses (with pockets of course) to my Zippy Bagnabbits and all sorts of wear and ware in between! The past 20+ years has found my creativity leaning toward home décor. No more string bikinis for me. Ahhh maturity, but still making great product.
You previously could find me most Wednesdays and most Saturdays at the Hilo Farmer's Market surrounded by the loveliest of Hawaiian Bark Cloth fabrics. My creations include table runners, placemats, napkins, zippered pouches, wristlets, coasters, eye pillows and zippered pillow covers(of course). All in Bark Cloth. Lucky me. Easily recognizable, I am the one with the smile and the flower in my hair.
Currently, I am taking a break from that Market. I had planned on a November 2021 return, but with all the changes going on, I am seriously reconsidering my return if I go back at all. I'll keep everyone posted. I still wear a flower in my hair.
Although I have been sewing for longer than you have been born, My 1st Etsy sale was in 2016 and it was a s.l.o.w start. So I am just a fledgling to the Etsy Universe. Here I am 300+ sales on this site later...Mahalo for helping me fly.
