Announcement   An air of sophistication to this timeless craft accompanies every product design thought of and completed.

Scrumptious baby blankets, lovely accessories, as well as items for home keeping and decorating are my favorite things to create!

As the shop grows, so will my offerings for sale. I'm starting small in order to make items with the best quality materials I can afford to provide.

Because these items are hand made, they won't be perfect nor identical (if pairs), but I will only send an item to you that meets my own standards for enjoying.

Custom orders are welcome and you can begin that process by clicking on the "Request Custom Order" link on the left side of the shop page.

Local friends may pick up items from me. Contact me through the shop and I will send you a code for free shipping. All other customers (local and otherwise) must pay shipping.

Thanks for shopping at Yarn*Ami*Amour.
Wear it well!
XOXO - Amy

Amy knitted two personalized stockings for me to replace childhood stockings for two of my nieces. Their original stockings were damaged in storage. The stockings were perfect in very way! They were exactly what I requested and my nieces were thrilled to have a piece of their childhood back! Cannot say enough nice things about Amy! She is a great knitter but also an awesome person!

A fun knit cowl poncho with side seams and ribbing was completed and sold to a client. She chose her yarn while traveling and was excited for me to put structure and beauty into yarn for a great addition to her winter wardrobe.

About

YarnAmiAmour's Accidental Opening

There's just something so beneficial to creating beauty and add to that the feel of the large variety of yarns trailing through my fingers as I work on big and small projects. It ministers to my spirit, soul, and body. Being sick in 2010 caused this need to create to stir and fester. It had to be satisfied. I've enjoyed needlework and sewing for a long time, but the newness of knitting and crocheting for me has been rewarding and a vital part of my continued healing I believe.

In 2010, my sister Louann made lots of beautiful knitted and crocheted caps while I was undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer. I had attempted to learn both when I was much younger, but it never stuck with me.

Then, in February 2012, I decided to take my daughter-in-law and our other son's beloved to see my sister in Franklin, TN for a weekend of learning to knit. All three of us learned and for me this time, it stuck.

From time to time, I have made caps for ladies back in the facility where I received my treatments. My sister keeps me stocked in pattern ideas and motivation from her continued beautiful end products for others.

After enjoying a year of knitting my sister taught me how to crochet in the mountains of Highlands, NC on our annual sister retreat. That, too, has been enjoyable.

After the birth of our first grandson in January 2014, I made a yummy bobble blanket for him and when my daughter-in-love carried it around, she came back with comments from admirers wanting to know where she got it and how they could get it. The Quentin blanket was birthed! Shortly after, a mom-to-be who had admired the blanket dropped enough hints and a color palate for her spa baby nursery, that I made the Hadley blanket for her baby shower. That's her nursery you see in the photo.

In the midst, small thoughts of an Etsy shop began emerging in my own head. Others began suggesting it, too.

This past summer, my sister-in-law Donna shared a picture of crocheted earrings with me and immediately, I went to the store and gathered similar supplies to test a pattern and end product. It was a hit for me! The yarn and hook are so small, but the end product is fun and affordable. Because she gave me the idea, I named the earring I make after her.

The week after our youngest son married October 11, 2014 I decided to play with setting up a shop. I'd been working on earrings in several colors in snatches of time and had enough inventory (I think) to attempt it. So, after loading photos and submitting info, I thought I'd set up the financial end of it, not realizing that when I clicked "Done", the shop would go live.

October 23, 2014, I accidentally opened YarnAmiAmour! Now you know!
