This is how I am going to do business.
As in any functional trading post variety is the norm. Each of the various products at any point in time may have some unique characteristics. The will be covered in the product description when placed on a shelf. If there are any questions at all please do not hesitate to ask.
Why is this written out so? To remind me what I am supposed to do for you and so you know what is to be expected.

BY CREDIT CARD is easily done by selecting the option of paying by PayPal. This is also the preferred manner. This can be done by clicking on the word Paypal or the four little credit card symbols adjacent to the word Paypal during check out. And then ignoring all references to having a Paypal account or creating one fill in your personal Credit Card information when asked.
Paypal is international and handles all money conversions and transactions painlessly. PayPal also makes it easy to deal with shipping costs as when everything is calculated, refunds are issued to your credit card through PayPal painlessly.
For those who have a PayPal account payment is handled normally with no problems.

YeOldTradingPost can handle Credit Cards directly for US based customers if you wish. by selecting other. This will require the direct contact through the convo system and Credit Card information to be supplied by the buyer when asked. Credit Cards honored are Visa and Master Card.

YeOldTradingPost can accept personal credit cards from U.S. banks and financial institutions directly with out going through PayPal at the present time IF that is your preference.
Using PayPal to process a credit card transaction is the preferred method of payment.
To accept a credit card directly is procedural thing that must be followed in order to do so.
Decide prior to check out how you wish to pay for your purchase.
At check out you will be offered the choices
If you select PayPal you will be transferred to the PayPal secure web site where you will be prompted to give your credit card information.
You will be offered the opportunity to open a PayPal account at the same time. You may accept or ignore the offer as you see fit, but when through with the requirements to use your credit card it will be processed normally. As shipping is generally an estimate when shipping is calculated exactly any overage in money received that exceeds 10% over real costs will be issued to you in return through the credit card.
IF you select other you may complete the purchase transaction with out any concern and when at the end you will have purchased but not yet paid for the item.
Your purchase will be seen and you will be contacted by both your E-mail and the Etsy Convo system of communications and be given a phone number to be called and a time window to call with in to insure some one receiving your call.
Using the phone number insures maximum security for your credit card information. The charges will be calculated based on purchase price and your credit card will be processed through our merchant services system. And the same rule applies anything 10% over real costs will be refunded through your credit card.
When the item is confirmed as paid for it will then be shipped.
This service while time consuming is offered as an option to using PayPal for the exact same process.

Payment using credit cards processed by Paypal or by credit card via direct contact is preferred. Payment by any other means is by prior arrangement only.

Any question or confusion generated during check out can be addressed by contacting YeOldTradingPost directly via the Etsy Convo system only used when you are an Etsy member which you would have to be in order to purchase an item.

A minimum order of $100.00 is a requirement.
If you are short of funds but have found that 'special' item, a layaway plan can be arranged. Basic terms are 50% down - nonrefundable to hold the item. The balance must be paid off within one month (unless prior arrangements have been made) or the entire payment will be forfeited.
Items will be shipped once totally paid for and funds have cleared the bank.

RESERVED ITEMS: Reserved items will be held for 24 hours unless prior arrangements have been made. At the end of the reserved time frame, items will be returned to stock, the purchase order cancelled and moneys returned less non-refundable deposits.

Are common at the Trading Post. They generally will involve some communications and the convo system is recommended. Payment on special orders will generally consist of a non-refundable deposit prior to ordering material. The item will be listed as Special Order only and will consist of an estimated good faith ship date. I reserve the right to alter ship dates with in reason as there are variables out of my control that may effect the estimate.
If some one should purchase a special order item the purchase order will be cancelled less a handling fee of $10.00 and then advance money will be refunded.
I WILL NOT attempt to knowingly duplicate another’s work.
Most items will be shipped within 2 business days of the payment clearing.

I will ship only to your Paypal address. If you have a different address that you wish to be shipped to, please let me know in the message from the buyer. Any items being shipped to an alternate address must be insured at the buyers expense.
Keep in mind if you wish something to be shipped to another party, that address can also be added to your approved PayPal Address list. This will insure that services supplied by PayPal will be in play. If this is not done seep previous paragraph.

Because shipping costs are completely dependent on weight, and I have no way of knowing in advance which selections you will make, the secondary shipping price is set to match the primary price. However I will ** combine shipping ** after payment is completed and refund appropriate funds.

The shipping cost listed includes not only the cost of postage, but also the cost of any packaging materials. I do try to recycle packaging materials as much as possible to keep these costs down.

All domestic packages are shipped USPS. Items weighing less than 13 oz are shipped 1st Class Package rate. Items weighing more than 13 oz are shipped Parcel Post unless otherwise noted. In the event that the total cost of shipping your purchase at the Parcel Post is more than the Priority Rate, you will be upgraded to Priority automatically. PLEASE NOTE: If you need your purchase in a hurry I will upgrade your shipping if you let me know, and will invoice you for the difference in cost before the item is shipped.

Shipping outside the United States is done USPS First Class up to the maximum weight and size permitted. All other packages are sent USPS Priority.

The buyer is responsible for any and all customs and duties. The customs declaration put on the package will NOT contain false information for any reason. The buyer is responsible for being aware of what can legally be imported into their country.

I will not 'guarantee' that any package will be delivered by any specific date. The USPS dates are guidelines and are NOT guarantees. Should a parcel absolutely have to be there by a specific date, I'm willing to make arrangements with private courier companies to help facilitate this.

In some cases shipping may have to be done by other than USPS (U.S. Postal Service) such as UPS (The Brown Truck) however on international shipments this usually triggers some rather high Customs Fees And Charges. Be aware of that possibility.

Local pickup is available and in some cases restricted to it, but date and time of pickup MUST be arranged prior to the purchase being made.

Although I make every effort to keep everything in stock at all times, there are times when our production does get behind. There are also times when items that were expected to arrive from our suppliers don't quite make it on the day that they were promised. In cases such as these I do make a note in the listings as to when the expected ship date will be.

Soap dishes are made right here in our own workshop from selected hardwoods. If you wish a different quantity than what's listed, please let me know and I'll set up a special order for you. Or even easier, purchase the items that make up the quantity you need and I'll combine shipping costs!

Once you have purchased an item you are expected to pay for it. Changing your mind is NOT a valid reason to request a refund.
If a change in design is required there WILL be an increase in costs to be negotiate and settled on.

If you would like further clarification on any item, please ask before making your purchase. If there is something that you are not sure of, please ask before making the purchase. I'm more than willing to answer questions about anything in the shop.

I cannot control what the post office will do with packages after they have been shipped. But, if something has happened to the package in transit, please contact me.

Any requests for refunds or returns must be received within three business days of the package delivery date and will be considered on a case by case basis.

All returned items must be in original condition. Shipping charges will not be refunded. There will be no refunds or returns on custom orders. All other refunds will be considered on a case by case basis. The buyer is responsible for all return shipping charges and all transaction fees incurred. All returns MUST be shipped with either delivery confirmation and insurance or some other form of electronic tracking where available.

There will be no refunds offered on Sale items. This includes Saturday Night Specials.
Additional policies and FAQs
Wood Products, specifically >Soap Dishes or Trays< . Our soap dishes will be a staple item and are carefully made in batches in the in house wood working shop. Our wood is purchased in quantity and “MILLED” to size when manufactured. Bulk quantity insures multiple types and grades of wood all suited for soap dishes giving a variety of appearances. Finished soap dishes purchased in batches will reflect the varieties. There is no finish used as no finish is suitable to be used in the application a soap dish is used in. They are left natural. A new soap dish may interact with soap being used but that is normal and will subside over time. Some types of wood have highly desirable variances and may be seen in photographs but it is not considered normal for our finished products.
They can however when requested may be hand sorted at an extra cost to include those variations. Again contact with any questions you may have.

I do make take a lot of effort to be creative with my photography. While appreciate recognition it would be nice to be contacted prior to publication. I would appreciate it.

At time to time other products will appear and pretty much be subject to the same limitations.

Note: As much as I do appreciate being featured on blogs, other websites, etc, I would request that you contact me directly before using my photos.

A regularly stocked item might be out of stock and if so it will be noted on the listing as to availability. In frequently stocked items will be handled as they arise. Again a question may be in order and if so ask. I have no problem asking and certainly none answering.

Specialty or infrequently stocked items will be handled on a case by case situation.

REFUNDS if applicable, will be handled case by case.
NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSITS in some cases for specialty items and layaway might be required. This too will be identified in the listings.

OUT of Stock items:
On occasion, some items will be temporarily out of stock. In these cases it will be noted in the listings.

Special orders are more than welcome. Lets discuss your wants and needs.
All special order items will require a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the purchase price (excluding shipping), with the balance to be paid when the item is ready to ship. Should you cancel the special order, you will forfeit the deposit. If you place the order through the Alchemy system, all Alchemy procedures will be followed.

Orders placed in any other manner will be listed in the shop as a 'reserved' order. You will be expected to purchase the listing and pay the agreed upon deposit the deposit before any work is done. Both the deposit and balance amounts will be requested via Paypal Invoice.

I do not do consignment at this time.

A Word About COLOR
I try very hard to accurately represent my product through photographs and description. I want you to love your special piece and come back for more! A lot of people don't realize that the color of the image can vary widely from one computer monitor to another. What looks lavender on one computer can be gray on another computer etc. If you are unable to determine the shade or exact color through my description, please send me a Convo and I'll give you as much detail about the color as I can.

Please note: I do NOT take photographs of every soap dish that I sell. Rather the photos used are showing the design and color variations. You will NOT receive the one in the photo.

All items are made in a smoke free, dog friendly environment. The utmost of care is taken to avoid pet hair on any product but there is the possibly that a stray hair may remain.

I will consider it. However realize to me a trade has no value if I have no need nor desire for the item offered.
