Love the picture. It was given as a gift and treasured by both parties.

About

what's the deal with this yellow dog, anyway?

Years ago, I noticed that 99.9% of the time, when an artist paints or draws a dog, they color that dog yellow. (Think Pluto, Catdog, Odie, Grimm, etc) I got to thinking about that. I finally concluded that yellow is the color of light and joy, and those are the qualities inherent in dogs.

I had a dream one night about a little dog with a gigantic head. It was really weird looking. I kept saying in the dream "That dog should be yellow"...and a couple of days later, I painted my first yelodoggie based on that dream.

I'm kind of a dogaholic, and my yelodoggie art strives to celebrate dogs.
