This is the perfect pin for my fiance's boutonniere! I am so happy with this product. The measurements were accurate, the shipping was fast, and the quality is superb. Thank you very much for making such a great piece! I would gladly buy from this shop again.

One of a Kind Pieces that Support Literacy

Thousands of books are thrown away each year in the San Francisco Bay Area alone, but just because an old book has seen better days doesn't mean it belongs in a landfill. We find unwanted, falling apart, or outdated books and give them a new life. Using books as a material helps to create products that are exciting and unexpected. Delicate embossing, fabric weaves and fragments of colorful patterns make each piece unique. Old textbooks, falling apart children’s books, and Reader’s Digest Condensed Books are our favorites, though any hardcover book with interesting colors or patterns will do. We also often use pages from the books to create more consistent patterns on our pieces- you'll notice the pages from textbooks, comic books, sheet music, and atlases.

We are currently partnering with Room to Read, and donating a portion of our profits to help support literacy in developing countries. Room to Read works in Asia and Africa to develop literacy skills and gender equality.
As of April 2015:

15,641,734 Books Distributed
31,636 Girls’ Education Participants
9.7 million Children Benefited

Hello! Thanks for checking out my shop!

My goal is to make jewelry and accessories that are both affordable and adorable, sustainable and yet sophisticated. Made from carefully selected recycled book covers, and inspired by vintage style, each piece is hand-crafted with love. The books are discovered at thrift stores, garage sales, and library sales, with the goal of using books that are obsolete or falling apart. Utilizing unusual book covers as the material means that the pieces are often unrepeatable.

I usually make the jewelry to order, and you will probably NOT receive the exact items pictured... but they'll be amazing nonetheless: there's nothing quite like one-of-a-kind!

Also, my packaging and shipping materials are almost always fully recyclable, so you can do your part too!

First time buyer on Etsy? Here's an Etsy guide to making your first purchase:

Accepted payment methods

  • Pay with Visa
  • Pay with Master Card
  • Pay with American Express
  • Pay with Discover
  • Pay with PayPal
I will generally hold an item for three days. If I haven't received your payment through paypal by then, it is no longer "yours." Of course, if you shoot me a message ("I don't get paid for a week!!") I am more than willing to cooperate.
I will ship within 7 business days after receiving your payment through paypal. I use normal ground shipping from USPS, which usually arrives within 2-4 business days of shipping.

If you would like your parcel insured or gift wrapped, I offer those services under the "Shipping Options" tab in my shop. You only need to purchase that option once... even if you have ordered multiple items from me!

The cost of shipping includes the price of shipping materials (which are usually recyclable), as well as the price of postage.

Rush Orders may be available as well: contact me for more information: laura [!at]
