...to Yoga's My Bag, where you'll see my love of sewing, recycling and yoga converge. I love using recycled materials. Many of my products have at least some part seeing its second life. It might be fabric from a dress found at an estate sale, a cotton sheet used as lining or beads from a thrifted necklace. Some of my upcycled bags made from pre-loved clothing were even featured in an edition of the super cool magazine Altered Couture.

Regardless of materials, all of my bags are well-made by me in a tiny room in Fort Worth, Texas that also houses my office (blessed to work from home), my sewing machines and way too much fabric. Because, don't you know, she who dies with the most fabric.... wins!

Throw your mat in a generously sized, one of a kind bag, add a towel or strap (plenty of room!), put your water bottle and gym card in separate pockets, clip your keys to the carabineer and get to class.

Along with the upcycled bags, I also make them in beautiful prints and batiks, the latter definitely a customer favorite. But even these are usually lined with a recycled sheet. See below for a complete list of features which will come with your bag.

FEATURES:

- Fabric used may come from my local fabric store but also is frequently purchased at estate sales. Many bags are made from gently used clothing. Note fabric may sometimes be found at thrift stores or in the closets or sewing rooms of an estate sale but I NEVER use stained or worn materials.
- All bags are lined in a coordinating fabric, usually from gently used sheets. No seams will show on your bag.
- All bags have a drawstring with cord stop which I think is quicker than a zipper. Bags are generously sized so your mat will slide in with ease. Roll, slide and cinch!
- All bags are accented with beads which might be glass, wooden, acrylic or metal but be assure they will coordinate beautifully with the fabric. Be sure and check out the close of up picture provided with each listing to see bead details. And if you love the fabric but hate the beads, just convo me and I can swap them out which something else.
- Most bags come with generous deep pocket wrapped around the entire circumference and then divided into three sections. Due to the limited amount of fabric in some upcycled bags, a few do not have pockets or might have an interior pocket so be sure and read the description.
- As all yogis are not made alike (and aren't we glad?!) most of bags come with a metal buckle adjustable strap. If you like a bag but it doesn't have an adjustable strap, convo me and I'll see if I can make it so.
- All of my newer bags come with a fabric loop inside the bag and a carabineer onto which you can clip your keys.
