New vintage treasures listed daily!
carmel hogan on Oct 28, 2013
Stunning and perfectly described, Thanks so much Carmel
I think that most of us will agree that customer service is on the decline, both online and in the “real world”. I take pride in my careful pictures and listing information, and in no way intend to misrepresent the quality of an item. Of course, please keep in mind that I sell vintage items, and that they are almost always gently used. Please read the description and look at the pictures carefully – however, I do not want any of my customers to be disappointed in their purchases, and I believe that the following policies should put everyone at ease:
Please send any messages to me through Etsy convos (as opposed to email). I check my Etsy messages at least daily, but I may not see your email for a few days (or delete it if I accidentally think it is spam!).
Accepted payment methods
- Accepts Etsy gift cards
United States shipping charges quoted in my listings are for the 48 continental states. Residents of Alaska and Hawaii - please contact me prior to purchase for accurate shipping charges.
My ultimate goal is for you to receive your purchase safely and in the most cost effective manner. I send the majority of my packages USPS Priority Mail. I will send packages USPS First Class if the item is small enough to keep shipping costs down. Some of my heavier or larger items are sent via USPS Parcel Post.
Sometimes the shipping method used will depend on where you are located...the farther the delivery is from Western New York, the more likely your purchase is to ship via USPS Parcel Post. I am happy to send your purchase using the USPS method of your choice - please contact me prior to purchase with your specifications so I can reserve the listing for you with the accurate shipping cost.
I am happy to ship most smaller items internationally. However, please keep in mind that if an item is shipped USPS First Class International, I cannot control in-transit time, tracking, customs, etc. I cannot refund for non-deliveries or damaged items - the only information I can provide will be the ship date and the CDN number. The customs form will list an accurate description and selling price of the item. As the buyer, you are responsible for all customs, duties, and import taxes and fees.
Refunds and Exchanges
For most items, shipping costs are calculated to exactly cover the postage expense. Please note that for purchases that require a significant amount of packaging materials (i.e. a china set), I usually build a charge of $2.00 in the shipping cost to cover the cost of the supplies (bubble wrap can get expensive!).
My items are shipped from Buffalo, NY. My shipping charges are calculated to cover shipping expenses to the West Coast. I will never request additional funds if the actual shipping charges exceed what I have quoted.
If, based on your shipping destination, I significantly overestimated the shipping charges, I will refund the excess charges on a discretionary basis (usually for excesses of $3 or more).
I will refund excess shipping charges resulting from the purchase of multiple listings (assuming that they were not unique items that were required to ship separately).
What if the item I receive is not what I was expecting?
If for any reason, you believe that the item you purchased from me has been misrepresented, please contact me immediately and I will be happy to resolve your concerns in the most cost effective manner, which may or may not include sending the item back. In the case of misrepresentation, I will bear the cost of the initial shipping and return shipping.
What if there is nothing wrong with the item I received, but I wish to return it?
In most cases, I will allow returns. You must contact me within 3 days of receiving the item through an Etsy convo, and I will work with you to reach a mutually agreeable decision. When I receive the returned item, I will credit you for the cost of the item, but not for the shipping costs. The returned item must be received in the condition it was mailed to you. If it is a fragile item, I would recommend insuring the package.
What if the item I receive was damaged in the mail?
I have only had one package arrive damaged, and I take the utmost care in packaging your purchases. If however, you receive your purchase and it is damaged, please contact me through Etsy convo within 3 days of receipt. A picture will be required to receive a refund on a damaged item.
In most cases, I insure fragile items, and you MUST keep all of the packaging materials as the post office will not process your claim without the evidence that it was packaged carefully. I will assist you with the insurance claim, and you will receive your refund through USPS.
If I did not insure the package, when I receive your message and picture of the damaged item, I will issue you a refund of both your purchase price and the shipping cost. If the shipment included multiple items or pieces (such as a china set), and one piece arrives damaged, I will refund a fair and agreeable portion of the price paid.
Additional policies and FAQs
Most of my packaging materials are new, although if I need an odd-sized box it may be re-used. I do not pack any items directly touching newsprint paper to prevent staining. If the items is intended as a gift, I will use all new materials.
I appreciate when customers send me a message, either through a convo or positive feedback, that their package arrived safely, at which point I will also issue positive feedback on the transaction. If I haven't received feedback or heard from you within 30 days, I will assume that your package arrived safely and issue positive feedback on the transaction.
